  • Abstract:

Decision making can become more effective and purpose serving only when group of experts well acquainted with all the criteria pertaining to decision making. It is therefore the result of collective efforts. All the participants of the decision making are not equally talented. Varied weights are to be assigned to different criteria according to their contributions. This article makes a novel approach to determine the weights of criteria by using the TOPSIS (Technique for order preference similarity to Ideal solution) method and intuitionistic fuzzy setting..

  • Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to present the efficiency of the application of the system dynamics simulation modelling in investigating the behaviour dynamics of the diesel engine complex system. The marine diesel engine is defined by a set of non-linear differential equations, i.e. by a continuous simulation model of a higher order and the so-called equations of state. At the same time, the simulation model is discrete as it strictly satisfies the chosen value of the fundamental integration time step DT. The paper presents a mathematical model of the system consisting of a marine diesel engine model, which forms the basis for designing a system dynamic qualitative model (mental-verbal, structural and schematic model) and a quantitative model (system dynamic mathematical and information simulation model). A scenario of mixed propulsion states has been presented. Parameters obtained with the aid of the hardware simulator Kongsberg ERS-L11 MAN B&W-5L90MC–VLCC Version MC90-IV have been used in conducting the simulation.

  • Abstract:

The power operated sheet bending machine is shown here. The importance of it is discussed. The theoretical formulae to calculate number of passes to manufacture pipe is given. Also formula to calculate time required to manufacture pipe is given. Experimental results of number of passes and time required are tabulated and given here. One parameter among thickness of sheet, diameter of pipe and width of sheet are varied by keeping other two parameters as constant. Then its effect on number of passes and time required to manufacture pipe is studied. Both theoretical and experimental results are compared and observed that they follow each other. Hence, it can be concluded that the theoretical formulae can be used for studying productivity of power operated sheet bending machine. Productivity analysis is given.

  • Abstract:

PV based traction systems employ DC-DC convert- ers for boosting the PV output voltage to adequate levels. Modern traction applications requires high voltage levels (500V to 750V) and hence, conventional boost converters are inadequate. In order to establish an efficient traction system, a high step-up gain interleaved DC-DC converter is presented. A high step-up gain interleaved DC-DC converter is designed by combining the switched capacitor and regenerative boost (SCRB) configuration. Since the switched capacitor and regenerative boost operations take place simultaneously, the voltage gain and efficiency is improved. In addition, interleaving reduces ripple content, which helps to elongate the lifetime of traction motors. Moreover, it offers low switching stress across the semiconductor....

  • Abstract:

Semi solid metals forming is a technique for metals processing that involves semi-solid fabrication and forming between the liquefaction and solidus states. For successful forming, the semi-solid metal micro structure has to consist a globular grains of solid in the liquid matrix. This behavior is called thixotropically where when the metal is sheared, it moves and when it is at rest, it solidify again. There are two main categories; rheo-routes and thixo-routes. The rheo-route is one process step where the semi-solid metal slurry is prepared with globular grains microstructure by stirring and cooling, which is pressed into die for shaping without solidification stage. The thixo-route is the process where the melted material is passed through solidification stage which tend the material in the form of a billet....

  • Abstract:

A high voltage gain non-isolated boost converter with switched inductor is proposed in the paper. The converter is constructed by adding an additional switched inductor to a conventional three-level-boost (TLB) converter. Conventional TLB converter is widely used in power electronics systems because of its simple structure. When compared with the conventional boost and TLB converters, the non-isolated boost converter can achieve higher voltage conversion ratio with reduced voltage and current stresses in the switches. A special feature of the converter is to automatically balance the output voltages for an unbalanced load without the need of any additional control strategy or auxiliary circuit. The converter is more suitable than the traditional TLB converter for high step-up applications. The performance study of converter is carried out with MATLAB/SIMULINK R2017a. From the analysis it is observed that the performance of the converter is improved. The converter has a maximum efficiency of 96%.

The abstract should summarize the content of the paper. In the present situation, biomedical waste is a big problem. When the number of hospitals and health-care facilities grows, so does the amount of biomedical waste generated. With the increase of medical care, the amount of biomedical waste produced every day is growing. And different types of waste are managed differently (reused, recycled, and reduced), Not just that, but poorly disposed waste can be detrimental to the atmosphere as well as poisonous to those who come into contact with it when disposing or handling medical waste. Thus we are developing the automatically open color coded dustbin and when the dustbin is full at that time buzzer will get the sound moreover using the GSM module to transmit a message to the hospital management system updating the dustbin status.

  • Abstract:

A 200W/1 MHz high voltage-gain two-phase bidirectional DC-DC converter can be operated in the charging mode from the DC bus to the battery and in the discharging mode from the battery back to DC bus. An interleaved topology is being used in the two phase circuit, along with a clamping capacitor that helps to reduce the voltage stress of switches. Even at very high voltage gain, voltage stress of switches can be controlled by setting the number of phases needed. Irrespective of the number of phases, the voltage stress across switches can be reduced by adding a combination of a LC2 and a switch. The simulation and analysis of the high gain bidirectional DC-DC converter with reduced voltage stress for the forward mode (Buck mode) and the reverse mode (Boost mode) are carried out under the condition of D ≤ 0.5. The input bus voltage is considered to be 400 V to get the output battery voltage as 35 V. In the modified reduced stress converter, voltage gain is improved. The peak efficiency is increased to 97%. The performance study of the converter is carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK R2017a environment. Switching pulses were generated using TMS320f28335 microcontroller..

The circulation of leakage currents (common-mode currents) through the stray capacitance between the PV array and the ground would be enabled. However, these common-mode (CM) currents of the transformer less PV inverter will lead to serious electromagnetic interference, insecurity, and reduce the reliability of the PV inverter systems. By introducing the clamping topology that is adding diode clamp circuit to the H5 topology the CM current is maintains constant, and it also eliminates the voltage fluctuations in the system. Along with this H5-.....

  • Abstract:

In far-off areas like towns, islands, and sloping regions, there is a chance of continuous force disappointments, voltage drops, or force variances because of lattice side deficiencies. Framework-associated sustainable power frameworks or miniature matrix frameworks are ideal for such far-off areas to meet the neighborhood basic burden prerequisites during lattice side disappointments. In sustainable power frameworks, sun-based photovoltaic (PV) power frameworks are available and crossover PV-battery frameworks or energy stockpiling frameworks (ESS) are more equipped for giving the uninterruptible capacity to the neighborhood basic burdens during lattice side shortcomings. This energy stockpiling framework likewise improves the framework elements during power variances. In this paper the investigation of the hybrid inverter has been done which clarifies all the elements like usage, pros, and cons of mixture inverter

  • Abstract:

The powers between two DC sources are transferred in either direction by using bidirectional DC-DC converters (BDCs). Such converters are commonly used in applications, such as fuel-cell hybrid power systems, hybrid electric vehicle energy systems, battery chargers, photovoltaic hybrid power systems, and uninterrupted power supplies. Here, a new bidirectional DC-DC converter with high voltage gain in both buck and boost operating modes is proposed. This new BDC is obtained by replacing all the diodes in the Single Switch Transformer less DC-DC converter that uses L2C3D2 network, with switches and controlling their pulses in buck and boost modes. It has the advantages of a lower voltage stress across the power switches, a wide voltage-gain range, and an absolute common ground. The operating principle, the voltage and current stresses on the power switches, the comparisons with the other converters and the controller design are also mentioned. The simulation is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK R2017a. Using FPGA controller, the pulses for the switches are generated and they are driven using TLP250.

  • Abstract:

The current paper includes numerical analysis for flow and heat transfer co-efficient parameters of elliptical and circle pin fin on a wedge duct. Reynolds-averaged Naiver–Stokes equations are coupled with k-e turbulent model coupled and hence analysed. The disparity of flow field variables on pressure drop and amount of heat transfer was obtained for Reynolds number of 10,000 – 50,000 in steps of 10. Two different shapes of pin fins are analyzed with two different boundary conditions for Five Reynolds number namely, circular and elliptical pin fins. The results of two different inline pin fins were justified with the empirical data with change in end wall and pin–fins area-averaged Nusselt number with the variation in the Reynolds number. The numerical results of circular pin fin agree well.
