the seven natural reserves in Jordan (Dana, Shaumari, Azraq, Ajloun forest, Wadi Ram, Dibeen, WadiMujib), cover over 1200 Square Kilometers, according to theRoyal Society for The Conservation of Nature that assume the responsibility of managing and ensuring sustainability of natural reserves in the Kingdom. The area of nine reserves suggested to be constructed within the net of the national natural reserves is estimated to approximately 2884 km2. The aim of these reserves is to protect various kinds of animals related to the production of agricultural corps, which used as a food for some animals or for humans. They protect the environmental balance in the nature, where the presence of some plants and animals helps in getting rid of some harm in the nature, in addition to achieving some benefits......Keyword: ..... ×

This article explores a new approach of localization usinga novelhyperbolic method in an external environment. This method is compared with the conventional hyperbolic method. Two cases areconsidered: propagation in line of sight (LOS) and non-line of sight(NLOS) environments. The algorithm used here integrates a probabilistic approach which is centered on the rate of confidence. The analysis of the numerical results show that the new approach succeeds in delimiting the position of the target inside a geographically restricted area, even when the effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) of the target is unknown. Our results are quite encouraging, because the proposed algorithm is able to obtainbetter localization results than comparative algorithms.Keyword: Hyperbolic, LOS, NLOS, EIRP. ×

Many indictors and data sources have been used for the purpose of drought mapping in areas with water shortage problems. This study aimed to assess the combined drought index (CDI) and the standardized precipitation index (SPI) in terms of their correlation with crop production and yield in Jordan. Also, the study mapped the spatial extent of drought vulnerability at different administration levels (subdistrict, district and governorate). The CDI was based on monthly data of climate and remote sensing data of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), while SPI was derived from monthly precipitation data. Assessment of both indicators was based on their degree of correlation with yield and production of rainfed crops in five governorates for the period 1994-2016. Vulnerability mapping was based on the use of different data related to sensitivity and adaptive capacity. Results showed that CDI had higher correlations with crop yield than SPI, with variations in the coefficient of......Keyword: CDI, Drought, GIS, Jordan, Remote sensing. ×

An adaptive filter is a system with a linear filter that has a transfer function controlled by variable parameters and a means to adjust those parameters according to an optimization algorithm. Because of the complexity of the optimization algorithms, almost all adaptive filters are digital filters. Adaptive filters are required for some applications because some parameters of the desired processing operation (for instance, the locations of reflective surfaces in a reverberant space) are not known in advance or are changing. The closed loop adaptive filter uses feedback in the form of an error signal to refine its transfer function. Generally speaking, the closed loop adaptive process involves the use of a cost function, which is a criterion for optimum performance of the filter, to feed an algorithm, which determines how to modify filter transfer function to minimize the cost on the next iteration. The most common.....Keyword: Adaptive Filters, Closed loop adaptive filter ,Digital Filters, MATLAB, Simulink ×

Abstract:
Polynuclear macro cyclic complexes with Schiff base ligands are being synthesized easily and with good yield by starting with suitable precursors and allowing them to react with active carbonyl compounds in the presence of metal cations in suitable solvent media. Substituted salicylic acids have been chosen as starting organic ligands having active carbonyl formation. Cobalt(II), c=nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of these ligand have been employed as intermediates for metal ion template synthesis of macro cyclic complexes by condensing them with diamines. Series of complexes have been prepared and characterized on the basis of spectral, magnetic and conductivity studies. Condensation with 1, 2-diaminobenzene produces a binuclear series. In a micro grid (MG), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is the main component that collects data of consumer and sends it to the cloud through communication network. In the future AMI interfaced to cloud computing will increase substantially, creating a large data transfer of the load which needs to be efficiently balanced. This paper proposes a load-balance problem in an AMI cloud computing network using Linear Integral Programming (LIP). With respect to monitoring knowledge, we have a tendency to be able to plot the load curves so it will be useful in achieving optimum energy consumption for particular load. Classification of loads is done in terms of shifting priorities. Stochastic control algorithm is used to shift the least priority load to decrease the overall peak of the system..Keyword: AMI, Peak Load Shifting, Communication Infrastructure, Cloud Computing, PDN. ×

In this study, object detection and tracking application is aimed by using image processing techniques. To detecting the moving objects, pixel changes are used. It is aimed to keep the position of the object in front of the camera connected servo mechanism by using the color and shape properties of the desired object. Morphological processes were also used for image processing. The outputs were subjected to filtering processes during the movement and after the morphological treatment to remove the noise. By selecting the desired region or object and considering the detected pixel changes, the coordinates are determined and set to be in the image center. In case the object moves away from the center within the image taken from the camera, the biaxial pantilt positions the camera with the help of the servo motor to hold the object in the center of the image. All of these operations were done in a single program with the Raspberry Pi development card with ARM processor architecture. Abstract:
Carrier mobility for Hg1-xCdxTe structures have been calculated by using numerical analysis. In this investigation we have been taking into account the spherical and parabolic band, elastic scattering of by polar acoustic phonons. The electron scattering, electrons and holes (heavy and light) mobility have been calculated as a function of different variable such as temperature and doping concentration. This numerical simulation can be used to optimize the mentioned parameters in photodiode or photovoltaic mode. Calculations of the electron mobility shows that it is higher than the hole mobility in Hg1-xCdxTe ..Keyword: Polar acoustic phonon, Piezoelectric, Carriers (electron and hole), Scattering, Mobility ×

This paper explains how to optimize the ultrasonic sensor's work in detecting and measuring distance and obstacle characteristics underwater using a microcontroller Arduino. One of the most significant challenges of underwater studies is the difficulty for operators to navigate remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in surroundings where visibility is partially or entirely obstructed. As a solution, a video camera is attached in front of the vehicle and stream the video real-time using a computer operated monitor on the surface. However, set-up and installation may be very complicated and expensive. Instead, we explore the use of a more straightforward and less costly way for visual feedback: the ultrasonic sensor or Sonar (sound navigation and ranging). A single transducer was used to communicate and supply the power needed by the ultrasonic sensor. The sensing procedure is based on the measurement...Keyword: ...... ×

Due to ever increasing emphasis on better quality of fabric for the highly competitive market and process performance, yarn has to meet the standards in respect of yarn faults, hairiness, CV% etc., besides traditional quality standards. The winding speed has a significant impact on the quality of yarn as well as productivity of the winding process. Higher winding speed put more stress and strain on the yarn and also increase degree of abrasion with different machine parts. The winding speed has a predominant effect on yarn properties such as imperfection, hairiness, CV% etc. In this work, two yarns of 22 Ne carded hosiery and 22 Ne combed hosiery were wounded in the Autoconer winding Machine at the speed of 1400 m/min, 1500 m/min and 1600 m/min respectively. Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerants was phased out. Also, Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) will be eliminated in the next few years. Researchers and scientists found that those mentioned refrigerants are the main cause of Ozone depletion among other chemicals used for other purposes. R-22, a type of CFC, is used widely in Kuwait and the Middle East region for air conditioning units but recently R-410A is getting more popular. However, Kuwait Market is still selling R-22 itself for maintenance and new units with R-22 for commercial and residential uses. R-410A has higher pressure than R-22 at the same saturated temperature. Therefore, new units must be redesigned, and existing units must retrofit so it can handle this type of pressure.Keyword: ..... ×

Evaluation of past, present, and future streamflow within the North Platte River Basin (NPRB) is presented. Reconstructed streamflow using tree rings provided a proxy for the long-term variability in the region. Observed (USGS) streamflow was used to analyze patterns and extremes in recent decades. Projected streamflow data from the Community Climate System Model (CCSM) was extracted to provide future insight of the hydroclimatic variability in the region. The streamflow reconstruction dated back to 1383 (617 years) and accounted for 69% of the overall variance. Drought analysis indicated numerous droughts occurred during the 1700s and only two droughts have occurred in the past century. Rescaling and mean bias correction methods were applied to adjust the CCSM......Keyword: Drought, Drought Forecasting, Streamflow, Tree Rings ×

HYDRUS-2D was used in simulating water flow and nutrient (nitrate and phosphorus) transport through soil profile from entrenched waste water treatment works sludge under four different application treatments. The objective was to simulate nutrient migration processes with conceptual simplifications of the inputs to the model based on field evidence, soil survey data and applicable literature. Hydrological modelling of the system require the relationship between the soil moisture content (θ), soil water potential (h) and saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks). Model application indicated that, the simulated water flow in soil profiles over the monitoring period compared favorably to measured observed soil water contents. This paper proposes the design and characterization of Antipodal Vivaldi antenna, which can be applied in the field of ocean communication. Since Vivaldi antenna have the properties such as Ultra-Wide Band (UWB), high directivity, better radiation pattern, this paper focus on designing and analysis of an Antipodal Vivaldi antenna. The designed Antipodal Vivaldi antenna can be used for wide impedance bandwidth application such as ocean communication. The antenna is designed on low cost FR4 substrate having a thickness of0.306 mm. The performance of the antenna was tested throughout its operating frequency from 3.1GHzto10.6GHz. Experimental results show that the designed Antipodal Vivaldi antennashave better performance interms of VSWR, Return loss and S parameters. Also the designed Antipodal Vivaldi antenna shows nearly stable end-fire radiation pattern throughout the operating frequency from3.1GHz to 10.6GHz..Keyword: Directivity, FR4 substrate, Ocean communication, Radiation pattern, Vivaldi antenna ×

The design philosophy of "strong-column-weak-beam" demands good ductility and more desirable collapse mechanism in the structure. When only the flexural strength of longitudinal beams controls the overall response of a structure, RC beam-column connections shows ductile behavior. The failure mode where in the beams form hinges is usually considered to be the most favorable mode for ensuring good global energy-dissipation without much humiliation of capacity at the connections. [18F]FEONM is a new Alzheimer's disease imaging agent with the same core structure but has higher lipophilicity than that of 2-(1-{6-[(2-[18F]fluoroethyl)(methyl)amino]-2-naphthyl}ethylidene)malononitrile ([18F]FDDNP). In order to optimize the radiochemical yield of [18F]FEONM, we have studied its radiofluorination kinetic at constant temperature and concentration. The results showed that the first order radiofluorination rate constant can be determined at optimized gap area condition. Although the first order reaction rate constant calculated by Gauss apodization function is an error function, it can be calculated with Welch apodization function and expressed as an analytical form. Consequently, the ideal size of a microfluidic plug flow reactor can be determined..Keyword: [18F]FEONM, radiofluorination kinetic, Welch apodization. ×

The exposure of pistons to extreme mechanical and thermal loads in modern combustion engines has necessitated the use of efficient and detailed analysis methods to facilitate their design. The finite element analysis has become a standard design optimisation tool for this purpose. In literature two different approaches have been suggested for reducing the geometry of the cylinder and crank slider mechanism, toidealise piston finite element analysisload models, whilst trying to maintain realistic boundaries to obtain accurate results. The most widely used geometry is the combination of piston and gudgeon pin while the second geometry includes some portion of the connecting rod's small end and cylinder in addition to the piston and gudgeon pin.No clear analyses have been made in literature about the relative effectiveness of the two approaches in terms ofmodel accuracy. In this work both approaches have been carried out and analysed with respect to a racing piston. The results suggest that the latter approach is more representative of the load conditions that the piston is subjected to in reality..Keyword: Ansys, Finite Element Analysis, Piston, Stress. ×

There availability of 3D players and displays has significantly risen in the last years. Nonetheless, the amount of 3D content has not experienced an increment of such magnitude. To overcome this problem, many algorithms for converting images and video from 2D to 3D have been proposed. Here, we have proposed an automatic learning-based 2D-to-3D image conversion approach, based on the key hypothesis that color images with similar structure likely present a similar depth structure. This project presents simple and efficient modified line growing stereo matching algorithm using region based segmentation which focuses on removal of Ambiguous pixels in segmented region. Anomaly detection is an identification of an unknown behavior of the system. Finding anomalies in a text document may be useful, for example, in detecting internal or external plagiarism. Our goal is to analyze text segments of some long text and find segments which have some anomalies, a different stylometry in comparison to the other segments or to the full text. We present a new two-steps method: (Step 1) clustering of segments, and (Step 2) classification of segments using convolutional neural networks. The method was tested on ten Arabic and ten English long texts. Our new method contributes to the previous results about texts. The algorithm classify texts into two classes: a reliable or a suspicious text and in many cases it confirms the previous evaluation of analyzed texts. The results are compared to results computed by three other in short described methods.Keyword: Text, segment, anomaly detection, convolutional neural network, clustering. ×

This paper proposes a novel wavelet based feature set to analyze the T2 weighted axial images to classify tumour distress slices and locate tumour tissues by using Mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The nature of brain is almost symmetry and having more number of components such as sulcus, gyrus, ventricles and CSF. These are all forming more edges in MRI image. Thus induces to define a strategic wavelet feature set to recognize tumour distress images. This paper delineates a novel feature set and its efficiency in classification. This feature sets employed in support vector machine (SVM) to classify the abnormal slices. Then exact tumour location was detected using MAPE. It is also compared against existing Gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) based feature set and an unsupervised algorithm in terms of false alarm and missed alarm. Newton's masterpiece the Principia was originally published in the Latin in three editions i.e. 1687, 1713 and 1726. It was translated for first time from third edition in English in 1729 by Andrew Mott, this version is used for critical analysis. But now this book is available on the internet free of cost. The theme of mentioning this is that it is now easily available and accessible for global critical analysis. Newton's third law is also implies Law of conservation of linear momentum when statement is mathematically interpreted. This law establishes precise equality between action and reaction in all three examples or applications given by Newton. The main apparent limitation of the law is that it neglects the properties of projectiles (shape, mass, inherent composition, nature, flexibility, elasticity, plasticity, rigidity, size, mode of interactions etc.). Further the law puts no constraints on the target i.e. floor, table, stretched sheets of steel.......Keyword: Principia, Third law, generalized law, characteristics of projectile. ×

Water is essence of life on which man depends not only for his direct consumptive need but also for producing his food, fibres and for various day-to-day requirements. Water is therefore one of the most important inputs essential for the production of crops because plants need it continuously during their life and in large quantities. In order to determine the water requirement of the crops, a non-weighing Lysimeter is required for estimating the consumptive use. The project aimed at developing a non- weighing Lysimeter using okra as a trial crop. The low cost non-weighing Lysimeter is affordable by low and medium scale farmers to give them the opportunity to know the water requirement of a particular crop before going into production. Abstract:
The concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has increased rapidly due to human activities, anthropogenic activities and economic growth, resulting in an increase of the atmospheric temperature and causing global warming and climate change. Climate change represents the biggest sustainability challenge. Greenhouse gases are emitted due to use of transport, land clearance activity, production and consumption of the food, use of fuels, manufacturing of goods, buildings and services. Economic growth and urbanization have resulted in activities contributing about 80% of the global GHG emissions and the carbon emitted requires having vigil check. Carbon footprint is an easy tool for monitoring and quantifying carbon emission (GHG emission), as well as checking mitigation programs at different scales. The present study shall focus on the various aspects of carbon footprint like carbon footprint contributors, its effects, carbon assessment methods and mitigation measures.Keyword: Carbon footprint, Carbon management, Climate change, Global warming, Greenhouse gases. ×

The human eye structure is like that it can recognize the depth of an object in front of them. They combine two images known as stereo images into a single image which helps to identify the depth of an object. From the stereo images, we can find a disparity image used for 3D image reconstruction. The disparity image generation is also possible through MATLAB and embedded platform, but there is one issue to generating disparity image is a low frame rate. To overcome that issue FPGA having better features like high clock frequency, parallel processing and re-programmable device.Keyword: Disparity image, FPGA, Sum of Absolute Difference (SAD) ×
