  • Abstract:

The natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) power plant has been a prominent technology for electrical power generation. Moreover, the relatively high efficiencies, low investment cost, and a low carbon-to-hydrogen ratio of natural gas compared to other fossil fuel sources have driven the attraction of NGCC plants for enhanced power generation. In addition to the need to increase power generation, there are environmental concerns over CO2 emission from thermal power plants. Hence, recourse is taken to the development of efficient low-emission power generating systems.Thiswork demonstrates a unique NGCC model using Aspen Plus®software integrated with the calcium looping (CaL) process for CO2 capture. Also, the supercritical CO2 cycle replaces the conventional steam Rankine cycle... <1), but more during the vegetative stage..

It is desirable for making atmosphere more comfortable or pleasant to clarify how color temperature and air temperature affect psychological preferences in interior lighting. The psychological evaluation experiments was conducted by using a laboratory whose air temperature was kept at a constant value. The experiments demonstrated the following, on condition that subject compare the test side booth with the standard side booth, whose color temperatures were different each other. The air temperature to which the subjects were exposed was low, as in winter, the atmosphere in a booth was more preferable at a low color temperature than at a high color temperature, immediately after the lighting was turned on. On the other hand, the air temperature was high, as in summer, it was more preferable at a high color temperature than at a low color temperature..

  • Abstract:

In recent decades, the global production of pomegranate has increased considerably, leading to a remarkable increase in the amount of pomegranate peel generated. Hence, the need for its valuation. In this respect, the present work aims to attempt the potentiality of pomegranate peel as a low-cost adsorbent for methylene blue (MB) removal. The batch experiments were performed to determine the adsorption capacity of the biomass. The system variables studied include Adsorption time and initial dye concentration. It was shown that the MB adsorption onto pomegranate peel is drastically dependent on adsorption time and initial dye concentration. The rate adsorption of MB was rapid, attained equilibrium at about 60 min, a time in which the percentage removal exceeds 75%, and this at the initial dye concentration....

  • Abstract:

This paper studies the evaluation of probabilistic SPARQL queries. The evaluation of such queries is, in principle, conceptually simple and straightforward. However, it does incur a time cost that must be taken into account. It thus expedient to devise methods that lower this cost. We propose and explain such a method, that makes use of complex matrices. The idea to resort to the complex numbers is inspired from the greatly expanding field of unconventional computing, and, in particular, from quantum computing. This novel proposal simplifies and speeds up calculation of products of probabilities. Therefore, is particularly promising in these cases where the same answer set can be obtained either by employing exact computations or by employing suitable approximations, as is indeed the case in many probabilistic queries.

Home automation systems are cutting edge tech- nologies to monitor and control a smart home environ- ment to produce an efficient system that accurately predicts the needs of the human occupants. Past research has focused on the accuracy of prediction of a users future action. However, a focus on prediction accuracy often comes at the cost of slower processing time. additionally, a need of hardware implementation is necessary to assure the consistency of the simulation results. Finally, much of that work uses synthetic datasets which do not always reflect the real-world interactions that occur between an individual and the home environment. This paper focuses on the prediction of future human actions in an intelligent environment with the goal of achieving both high prediction accuracy and response times that are appro- priate for a real-time application environment. In this work we present a systematic review of novel and interesting behaviour we have observed in a simplified model of a MEMS oscillator. The model is third order and nonlinear, and we expressit as a single ODE for a displacement variable. We find that a single oscillator exhibits limitcycles whose amplitude is well approximated by perturbation methods. Two coupled identicaloscillators have in-phase and out-of-phase modes as well as more complicated motions.Bothof the simple modes are stable in some regions of the parameter space while the bifurcationstructure is quite complex in other regions. Driver drowsiness is one of the reasons for large number of road accidents these days. With the advancement in Computer Vision technologies, smart/intelligent cameras are developed to identify drowsiness in drivers, thereby alerting drivers which in turn reduce accidents when they are in fatigue. In this work, a new framework is proposed using deep learning to detect driver drowsiness based on Eye state while driving the vehicle. To detect the face and extract the eye region from the face images, Viola-Jones face detection algorithm is used in this work. Stacked deep convolution neural network is developed to extract features from dynamically identified key frames from camera sequences and used for learning phase. A CNN classifier is used to classify the driver as sleep or non-sleep....

Computer vision - based fire detection has recently attracted great deal of attention from the research community. In this paper, the authors propose and analyses a new approach for identifying fire in videos. Computer vision techniques are largely used now a days to detect the fire. There are also many challenges in judging whether the region detected as fire is actually a fire this is perhaps mainly because the color of fire can range from red yellow to almost white. So fire region cannot be detected only by a single feature color many other features have to be taken into consideration. This paper is a study of the recent techniques and features extracted by different existing algorithms. In this approach, we propose a combined algorithm for detecting the fire in videos based on the changes of the statistical features in the fire regions between different..

  • Abstract:

Digital technology has made an important contribution in the field of audio logy. Digital signal processing methods offer great potential for designing a hearing aid but, today‟s Digital hearing aids are not up to the expectation for Sensory Neural Hearing Loss (SNHL) patients. Background noise is particularly damaging the speech intelligibility for SNHL persons. Transform domain adaptive methods can be used for noise reduction. But are having high computational complexity and the decorrelation efficiency is also less in most if the transformation methods. Artificial neural networks provide an analytical alternative to conventional techniques, which are often limited by strict assumptions of normality, linearity, variable independence etc. Hence this paper uses the neural network noise canceller to enhance the speech signal in digital hearing aid for SNHL person. Off-line implementations shows that the SNR improvement in direct time-domain neural network filtering approach with backpropagation training algorithm is almost equal to non-neural methods like transform domain adaptive filters.

Implying that the Jacobi and Gauss Seidel Methods do not converge often when applied to a system of linear equations yielding a divergent sequence of approximations. In such cases, the method is termed divergent. Therefore for a system of equations to converge, the Diagonal Dominance of the matrix is necessary before applying any iterative method. The aim of this work is to optimize an existing aircraft bracket using Topology optimization technique. Topology optimization is performed in Altair Inspire software without using any shape control on the basis of five-volume retentions. Volume is specified as 20%, 30% 40%, 50% and 60% of the total design space volume. Post optimization analysis of all the five optimized geometries is carried out. Finally, one model based on optimum results is selected and the smoothing process is carried out using Polynurbs fit tool. The Final optimized model has a weight reduction of 46% and a significant stress reduction of 28%, 54.4%, 49.8% and 47.7% in vertical, horizontal, oblique and torsional load cases respectively..

  • Abstract:

(M)Machine (L)learning is seen as prominent energizing late advancements in Artificial(A) (I)Intelligence. One explanation that works admirably every time a web index such as Google or Bing is used to search at the web is that a learning calculation, one modified by Google or Microsoft, has found out how to rate sites. Each when Facebook is introduced, it perceives the photos of partners, which is also computer research. In text, spam networks spare the user from swimming through huge hundreds of spam electronic mail, which is also a study estimate. In this document, a fast survey and destiny opportunity of the broad utilizations of gadget studying has been made.Intelligence. This is what we use every day in various programmes to learn calculations. Assembling has undergone major modifications....
