Blood flow is a study of measuring of the blood pressure and finding the flow through the blood vessel. In human body the arterioles have the greatest collective influence on both local blood flow and on the over all blood pressure. They are primary "adjustable nozzles" in the blood circulation system in human body, across which the greatest pressure drop occurs. In this paper a mathematical modeling of heat transfer through arterioles during blood flow is presented which is derived from the Navier-Stock equations and some assumptions. A system of non linear differential equations for blood flow and heat transfer through cross sectional area of the arterioles was obtained. MATLAB programming techniques were adopted to solve the equations. The results obtained are very sensitive to the values of the initial conditions and this helps to explain the condition of hypertension.Key words: Heat transfer, Arterioles, Hypertension, Blood Flow, Lumen ×

Concrete is an extraordinary and key structural material in the human history. Increase in construction activities has lead to an increase in demand for various raw materials in concrete. This lead to researchers to make use of alternate materials as ingredients of concrete those are in no way inferior to the conventional materials. By partially replacing the normal aggregate with Bethamcherla stone aggregates in different proportions, the strength of concrete can be determined. Based on the proportion of ingredients used in concrete, its properties can also be changed. In most of the building works normal conventional concrete is used. The present experimental work focused on effective use of bethamcherla waste materials in place of coarse aggregate in concrete mix since these materials are naturally and abundantly available in Kurnool district. Concrete grade of M20 is exercised with various replacement levels of coarse aggregate with 20mm bethamcherla stone aggregates like 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% to study the compressive strength and acid resistance of cubes with addition of steel fibers. Keywords: Bethamcherla Stone Aggregate, Compressive Strength, Concrete, Coarse Aggregate. ×

A revolution in science of electronics and communication has emerged in the last few decades, with the potential to create a paradigm shift in thinking about simulation theories . The paper throws some light on the utility and simulation of hairpin monopole antenna . The main focus is to get the exact simulation and results that we obtain from analyzing a simple monopole antenna. Analysis of number of antenna elements and comparision of the practical characteristics of the antenna with the ideal one have been done. A traditional dipole antenna is used to begin things and from there research is carried forward with the analysis of antenna using the same software over it's specified range of frequency. The name hairpin is so called because the antenna is in the form of hairpin which is a slender U-shaped piece of wire, shell, etc. Modern car radio, mobile communications, personal wireless devices, and medical instruments use the application of hairpin monopole antenna for better performance and efficiency. Keywords: antenna, monopole, dipole, frequency, simulation ×

Abstract:
In the process of image coding, external noises impact a lot in processing efficiency. In the application of medical image processing, this effect is more, important due to its finer content details. It is required to minimize the noise effect with preserving the image content information, without losing the image generality. Towards the objective of image denoising, in this work, a dynamic block coding approach for noise minimization in medical image processing is presented. The second observing factor in region segmentation is the marking of small region patterns which are derived due to misclassification of actual and detected regions. the complexity of detection logic, due to recurrent coding is an additional factor to observe. In this paper, a new recurrent coding approach of region segmentation is proposed, overcoming the issue of region marking, discontinuity issue and small region miss-classification. The suggested approach is a simpler and robust to region detection, test over different MRI samples.Keyword: PID Denoising, medical image processing, dynamic block coding, MRI images, classification ×

The composite beams has other advantage also such as increased fire resistance, increased load carrying capacity, stiffness in local buckling, Hence composite construction requires less steel and gives economical designs and Stiffness in bending as compared to Reinforced concrete beam. Also basic requirement of high rise construction is ductility of framed structure. There is lot of congestation of reinforcement in beam column joint which poses problem in maintaining the joint ductile. Hence to overcome such problem rolled steel sections are used as main reinforcement in place of normal tmt steel bars. Cloud computing has became a buzzword owing to availability and on-demand services that have changed the way working of all business organizations resulting in exponentially growth of cloud based applications. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) has played a key role in making the resources Like CPU, RAM, bandwidth, hard-disk; VMs etc. available on demand. Customers have to pay only for the resource they have actually used. In this paper a dynamic resource negotiation strategy by broker is introduced where the broker plays negotiators role and helps customers and vendors to dynamically negotiate on the pricing attribute of deal. When the customer needs resource he quotes his price constraints to broker who searches for best resource from the available vendors that satisfy his price attribute. A new attribute i.e. deviation from the price, customer gives to vendor has been introduced in this paper. If the deviation matches, then broker allocates the resource to particular customer. This helps customers and vendors in finding timely resource allocation while broker is able to increase his customer base..Keywords: Cloud Computing, IaaS, Resource Broker, Price Deviation. ×

Sandwich panels with many outstanding features have widely used in many fields especially in engineering. To use them effectively, we need to know the mechanical behaviors of these sandwich panels. This paper presents a homogenization method to determine the mechanical behaviors of folded core sandwich panels in in-plane shear loading. This method allows us to build an equivalent model (2D) for original model (3D) which helps to significantly reduce the computational time as well as time to build the geometry of model. A very good agreement is obtained between the 3D shell simulations and our homogenization model for in-plane shear problem verifying the accuracy and efficiency of our model. Linearized bearing and squeeze film damper models have limits when the rotor undergoes severe unbalance conditions or large shaft vibrations. This paper presents a nonlinear modeling approach for a complex rotor-bearing system, consisting of both tilting-pad bearings with squeeze film dampers as well as an assembly method for linear flexible rotors to simulate behavior of shaft-bearing system under severe unbalance conditions. By solving Reynolds equations derived from a tilting-pad bearing model and a finite length squeeze film damper model, the pressure profile is calculated using an approximate finite element method. The bearing/damper forces are then calculated based upon the shaft instantaneous position and velocity, and updated at each time step. The transient response of system, including coupled motions of the shaft, the bearing pads/pivots, and the dampers, is solved using a 4th Runge-Kutta integration method. The nonlinear transient behavior of a flexible eight-stage compressor...........Keywords: ...... ×

Abstract:
In Nigeria, only few studies have characterized timber species for structural design applications. In this study, determination of the physical and mechanical properties of timber species in Akwa Ibom state in southern Nigeria was carried out using methods defined in BS EN 1193:1998, BS EN 384:2016, BS EN 408:2010 and BS 373:1957, while strength classification of the timber species was in accordance with BS EN 338:2016. Twenty-five (25) samples each of five common timber species in Akwa Ibom namely: IyipOkoyo (Stauditiastipitata), Owen (Mitragyna spp.), Mkpenek (Uapacaguineensis), Atarabang (Xylopia spp.) and Ata (XanthoxylonSenegalensis) were selected for the study. Results of physical properties indicated that the timber species have low susceptibility to fungal degradation and high durability but prone to dimensional change. Of the five timber species, Atarabang (Xylopia spp.) was the only softwood specie, suggesting that Akwa Ibom is dominated by hardwood species. Mechanical properties obtained were..........Keyword: PID Akwa Ibom State, Characterization, Mechanical Properties, Physical Properties, Strength Classification, Timber ×

Population growth, rising standard of living, urbanization, diversification of consumption materials cause increasing of waste materials and energy consumption. In the world, thousands of wastes occur every day, and most of these wastes come from solid wastes such as household, industry, agriculture, municipal wastes, etc. This increase in solid wastes is one of the most important environmental problems in the world. Conversion of these wastes into energy during the disposal process is significant importance in terms of prevention of environmental pollution, public health, and renewable, sustainable energy. Landfilling which is the simplest waste treatment method currently appears as the less preferable method for following reasons: first, the lack of land available, especially in the most populated regions. Second, landfilling causes the production of powerful hazardous gases and chemicals that can contaminate the soil and water, posing a risk to the public health and the environment. Also, other thermal methods.......Key words: Plasma, AC Plasma Torches, Biomass, Solid Wastes, Waste-to-Energy, Combustion, Gasification. ×

Model studies on the purification of oil-polluted coastal soil by bacterial and bacterial-yeast associations were carried out. It is established that when they are introduced, changes in the composition of the microbiocenosis occur. In this case, the number of heterotrophic bacteria and hydrocarbon-oxidizing microorganisms is significantly increased. During the entire experiment, the bacterial-yeast association showed the greatest activity. Under its impact, oil utilization amounted to 62.3-84.0%. In this case, the use of manure with ammonium nitrate was more effective than the introduction of urea. Experimental data showed that more intensive destruction of oil occurs with the introduction of preparations in an amount of 1-2 g per 300 g of contaminated soil..Key words: bioremediation, oil-polluted soil, association of oil-oxidizing microorganisms, oil destruction, organic-mineral fertilizers ×

A revolution in science of electronics and communication has emerged in the last few decades, with the potential to create a paradigm shift in thinking about adaptive filtering. This Project involves the study of the principles of Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) and its Applications. Adaptive noise Cancellation is an alternative technique of estimating signals corrupted by additive noise or interference. Its advantage lies in that, with no apriori estimates of signal or noise, levels of noise rejection are attainable that would be difficult or impossible to achieve by other signal processing methods of removing noise. Adaptive noise cancellation is an approach used for noise reduction in speech signal. As received signal is continuously corrupted by noise where both received signal and noise signal both changes continuously, then this arise the need of adaptive filtering. This paper deals with cancellation of noise on speech signal using an adaptive algorithm called least mean square (LMS) algorithm.Key words: Adaptive noise cancellation (ANC), LMS Algorithm, NLMS algorithm, Adaptive filtering. ×

This paper describes the re-use of marble waste as filler material in wearing course of bituminous roads which is the replacement of stone dust. Stone dust is conventionally used as filler by NHA, Pakistan. Modified mixes containing Marble dust as filler were prepared and compared with conventional mixes containing stone dust as filler. Three varying Percentages of fillers namely Marble dust and Stone Dust (3.5%, 4.5% and 5.5% by weight of total aggregates) in both types of mixes were used along with three varying contents of bitumen (4%, 4.3% and 4.6%). Effect of both types of mixes was assessed in terms of Marshal stability and Indirect Tensile fatigue testing and results were discussed. Marshal mix design showed that modified mixes result higher stability as compared to conventional mixes. Increase in stability of modified mixes is due to the fact that Marble dust acts as a bitumen extender. Stone dust absorbs more asphalt content and.......Key words: Filler, wearing course, Marble Dust, Marshal Stability, Indirect Tensile Fatigue Test ×

The kinetics and oxidation of glutathione (reduced) (GSH) by vanadium(V) has been studied over the range 0.5 ≤ 102[GSH]T ≤ 2.0, 0.5 ≤ [H+] ≤ 3.0, I = 3.1 mol dm-3 and 298 ≤ T ≤ 313K in aqueous hydrochloric acid medium. The reaction showed first order dependence in [V(V)]T, first order with respect to [H+] and fractional order with respect to [GSH]T. The main product of the reaction is GSSG a dimer of GSH. In this reaction, one mole of vanadium(V) consumes one mole of GSH. Increase in hydrochloric acid concentration increases the rate. The activation parameters ΔH# (kJ mol-1) and ΔS# (JK-1 mol-1) for the electron transfer reaction were found to be -22.46 and -371.8. The negative values of activation parameters favor the formation of ordered transition state.Key words: Kinetic, oxidation, Glutathione (Reduced), Vanadium(V). ×

Green marketing is a vital constituent of the holistic marketing concept today. It is particularly applicable to those businesses that are directly dependent on the physical environment. Changes in the physical environment may pose a threat to fishing, processed foods tourism and adventure sports industries. Consequently new types of products were created, called "green" products, which would cause less damage to the environment. Thus green marketing plays an important role to promote and reinforce the idea of environmental protection and sustainable development both in the minds of the customer and the firms. Many global players in diverse businesses are now successfully implementing green marketing practices..........Keyword: Environmental Issues, Green Marketing, Product Process System, Sustainable Development. ×

The introduction of vehicle number plates is one of the important techniques as part of an intelligent transportation system that can be used to identify a vehicle simply by understanding the license plate. The introduction of license plate in Indonesia is usually used in the parking system which is still done manually, namely by recording the number plate character by the parking attendant. The process of character segmentation of vehicle license plate number will be done first before introduction process. The accuracy of character recognition is influenced by the result of the segmentation process. This research performs character segmentation process of vehicle license plate by using method of connected component analysis which is applied as algorithm; which is used to detect the corresponding blob region in a binary image. Abstract:
The use of natural fibers instead of traditional reinforcement materials such as glass fibers, carbon provides several advantages including low density, low cost, good specific mechanical properties, and biodegradability. Due to low prices, eco-friendly and high tensile behaviour leads to rising commercial performance of natural fibre reinforced plastics in all around the world. The primary aim of this research work was to investigate the mechanical properties of green composites reinforced with raw hemp and nano-hemp fibre. Many research report shows that the nano fibre reinforced structures exhibit higher mechanical properties. Initially the raw hemp fibre was broken down in to sub-micron fibrillar structure and subsequently to the level of nanofibril through physico-chemical methods where in a mild chemical treatment was given to separate the foreign particles such as pectin, wax........Keyword: Nano hempfibre, resin matrix, hand layup method. ×

We report co-deposited Ag-Cu2O films using DC Magnetron Sputtering method on glass substrates. Both Ag content and temperature were varied during deposition. UV-VIS-NIR, Hall measurements were used to characterize the optical and electrical properties. The results reveal that the deposited Ag-Cu2O films show a decreasing optical transmittance as the content of Ag increases. All the samples that are deposited at room temperature, Ag2O phase may exist. It is also observed that the resistivity was decreased due to Ag phase formation. The photo-induced conductivity measurement finds highest increase in conductivity by the nature of light irradiation. The co-existence of Ag2O and Cu2O was observed in the temperature studies. XRD studies reveal that Ag2O (002) peaks observed at low temperature and diminished at high temperatures. This study also explains the dissolving of Ag phases into the Cu2O with the temperature. The reverse effect of formation of Ag phases on Cu2O was discussed by......Key words: DC Magnetron Studies, Ag-Cu2O thin films, XRD and Optoelectronic Studies. ×

India is presently generating construction and demolition (C & D) waste around 23.75 million tons annually and these figures are likely to double fold in the next 7 years. C & D waste and specifically concrete has been seen as a resource in developed countries. Works on recycling have emphasized that if old concrete has to be used in second generation concrete, the product should adhere to the required compressive strength. The project done on recycled aggregate from demolished concrete. Our aim is to investigate the characteristics of recycled aggregate concrete, with respect to various parameters. After analysis of results of various tests done on recycled aggregate and natural aggregate it found that the recycled aggregate shows different result values, which implies that RA and NA are very different regarding various properties. But the Control mix showed better results with recycled aggregate. Results shows that compressive strength of recycled aggregate concrete depends upon grade of concrete which demolished to obtain recycled aggregate and the age of demolished concrete..Key words: Natural Aggregate Concrete (NAC), Recycled Aggregate Concrete (RAC),Compressive Strength ×

Wireless sensor networks are becoming significantly vital to many applications, and they were initially used by the military for surveillance purposes. One of the biggest concerns of WSNs is that they are very defenceless to security threats. Due to the fact that these networks are susceptible to hackers; it is possible for one to enter and render a network. For example, such networks may be hacked into in the military, using the system to attack friendly forces. Leap protocol( Lightweight Extensible Authentication Protocol) offers many security benefits to WSNs. However, with much research it became apparent that LEAP only employs one base station and always assumes that it is trustworthy. It does not consist of defence against hacked or compromised base stations. Any electrical power system consists of wide range of electrical, electronic and power electronic equipments in commercial and industrial applications. The quality of the power is affected by many factors like harmonic contamination, due to the increment of non-linear loads, sag and swell due to the switching of the loads. Since most of the electronic equipment is nonlinear in nature these will induce harmonics in the system, which affect the sensitive loads to be fed from the system. These problems are partially solved with the help of LC passive filters. However, this kind of filter cannot solve random variation in the load current wave form and voltage wave form. Active filters can resolve this problem. Product development teams employ much method's and tool's as they design, test, and manufacturing a new (or improve) product. It is important that the product development team understand how their design and decisions affect manufacture system performances. Having this feedback early in the design processes avoids rework loop's needed to solve problems of manufacturing capacity or cycle time. The team can incorporate this information and associated costs into a design decision problem aimed at choosing the best possible product design. It is clear that the product design, which requires a specific set of manufacturing operations, has a huge impact on the manufacturing cycle time. Congo red is an organic compound. It is an azo dye. Congo red is a water-soluble compound yielding a red colloidal solution. It is a major water pollutant of the textile industry and has its adverse affects on the aquatic life due to its carcinogenic properties. This dye is very difficult to degrade and has a harmful affect on the human beings. Being an azo dye it can remain in the water bodies for a longer period of time. Hence the removal of this dye is necessary. For the removal of this dye the waste of timber (mixture of bark leaves wood of various plants and trees) is taken up. It helps in the management of the solid waste material as the timber waste is used up for the removal of this dye from water. The timber waste which is easily available and has also been found to be effective in the removal of the Congo red dye.....Key words: Congo red, Adsorption, Adsorption isotherms, Bioadsorbents, Timber waste ×

The effects of mixed convection with thermal radiation, chemical reaction, Hall current and aligned magnetic on MHD flow of viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid on a moving inclined heated porous plate is analyzed. The nonlinear coupled partial differential equations are solved analytically by employing perturbation technique. The influence of different pertinent parameters such as Grashof number (Gr), modified Grashof number (Gc), magnetic field parameter (M), heat source parameter (ϕ), chemical reaction parameter (γ), Schmidt number (Sc), Hall Current Parameter (m), Aligned angle (ξ) and angle of inclination (α) on velocity, temperature and concentration distribution have been studied and analyzed with the help of graphs. An analysis of the coupled heat and mass transfer phenomena is provided in detail. We have an excellent agreement with the existed results [27]. Results indicate that.....Key words: Viscous and Ohmic Dissipation, Chemical reaction, Inclined plate, radiation, Alinged Magnetic, Hall Current. ×

Vertigo is a hallucination of movement and is very disabling and sometimes terrifying for the sufferer. BPPV is the commonest cause for vertigo. Fortunately BPPV is easy to diagnose in the clinic by eliciting a proper history and by simple testing. It is also easily treatable by particle repositioning manoeuvers. This posted paper discusses the diagnosis and treatment of BPPV and the results of treatment.Key words: Particle repositioning manoeuvre, BPPV, Rehabilitation exercise, Semicircular canal. ×

The continuous increase in road traffic in combination with insufficient maintenance due to paucity of funds has resulted in deterioration of road network in India. To improve this proper maintenance, effective and improved roadway design, use of better quality materials and use of effective and modern construction techniques should be put into practice. During last three decades in many countries around the world it has been tested that modification of the bituminous binder with polymer additives enhances the properties and life of bituminous concrete pavements. The present investigation was carried out to propose the use of plastic coated aggregate (PCA) in bituminous mix of flexible pavements in order to improve their performance and also to give a way for safe disposal of plastic wastes in order to counter environmental pollution as well. There are mainly two processes available for mixing of waste plastic in bituminous......Key words: Optimum bitumen content, Marshal Stability, Flow value, Air voids ×

In this manuscript, the network reconfiguration problem is resolved of open loop distribution systems with an objective of maximization of loss reduction. Distribution system plays an important role in supplying the electrical energy from power center to the end users via transmission coordination. The aim of the network reconfiguration is to reduce real power loss while satisfying all the operational constraints without islanding of any node. To decrease the system losses, the change of configuration in the meshed distribution system by switching operation with tie and sectional switches, while maintaining radial structure. A population based algorithm is called Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) is proposed for global optimization. The SCA algorithm is accomplished with standard 16-bus and 69-bus systems and outcomes proves the effectiveness of the proposed method..Key words: Loss Reduction, Sine Cosine Algorithm, Real Power Loss, Radial nature, Step by Step Reconfiguration, Voltage Profile. ×

A modified Differential Evolution (DE) is used in optimization of a gas transmission network. The goal is to reduce the annual operating and maintenance costs by optimizing many network parameters such as the number of compressors, lengths and diameters of the pipeline segments, flow rate in each pipeline segment, discharge and suction pressures at each compressor. The design must satisfy several constraints,. The values of some parameters are dependent on other parameters, which increases the complexity of the network, using the standard DE technique. Hence, A modification strategy is needed to improve the searching for the global optimum values. The modified DE has been successfully applied to this complex and non-linear problem and needed a very shorter computational time to converge to the optimal solution..........Key words: Algorithms, Differential Evolution, Optimization, Constraint. ×

Solar energy is considered one of the main alternative sources of energy to replace the dependency on other fossil resources. Solar water heating are very common systems, extensively used in many countries with high solar radiation potential. In this work, an experimental setup of evacuated tube solar collectors with U pipe is constructed to study the thermal performance and optimizes the working parameters using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The performance evaluation are carried based on heat extraction of U-pipe evacuated-tube solar collectors with three different arrangement of glass tubes with heat shields and various flow rate. A test system to evaluate the thermal performance of medium-temperature solar collectors is developed. The values of the daily useful energy gain, efficiency and solar fraction are obtained.............Key words: Center distance, Evacuated tube solar water heater, Efficiency, RSM. ×

ZnSe thin films were prepared by pulsed electrodeposition technique over stainless steel substrates in galvanostatics mode from an aqueous acidic bath containing ZnSO4 and SeO2. The growth kinetics of the film was studied and the deposition parameters such as electrolyte bath concentration, deposition time, current density and pH of bath are optimized. The X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and electron dispersive spectra (EDS) analysis of the deposited film showed presence of polycrystalline nature. The surface morphology studied by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) shows that the deposited films are well adherent and grains are uniformly distributed over the surface of substrate.Key words: Electrodeposition, SEM XRD, EDS, ZnSe. ×
