Generally, hand-operated and hydraulic compressors use crimping of connection terminals. However, this equipment often causes compressed defects because non-uniform pressure is applied in the circumferential direction of the terminal during crimping. A defective terminal often leads to fire in electric equipment due to overheating. Therefore, there is a need to develop a new crimping process for manufacturing highly durable terminals. MPC (magnetic pulse crimping) uses uniform electromagnetic pressure by a high magnetic field interaction between coil and terminal. This process uses only electromagnetic pressure for crimping, so the terminal can be crimped without physical contact, thereby producing a highly durable connection..........Key words:MPC(Magnetic pulse crimping process), Connetion terminal, Electromagnetic force ×

This paper focuses on how the competitiveness of forestry companies in Canada is impacted by forest products distribution and transportation costs, especially in the context of exports. We propose a new two steps approach, consisting in building a good initial solution and then improving it to solve multi-objective forest vehicle routing problem. The main objective of this paper is to solve a multi-objective forest vehicle routing problem using the Savings-insertion, followed by the Reactive tabu, with a variable threshold. To that end, first, a mathematical model is established; secondly, our new Savings-insertion builds a good initial solution, and thirdly, our new Reactive tabu with a variable threshold improves the initial solution........Keywords:Forest transportation, multi-objective, reactive tabu, time windows, vehicle routing ×

Free space optical communication ( FSO) is an optical communication technique that propagates the light in free space. Free space systems are affected through the channel by atmospheric phenomena's like rain, fog and snow which reduce the link performance. In this paper, we study the effect of rain attenuation on FSO performance in Canada using different types of modulations like on-off keying (OOK), pulse-position modulation (16-PPM), and differential phase shift keying (DPSK) The effect of selective combining ( SC) diversity is also included in this study. We evaluated the system performance under three different rain regions in Canada. The results indi-cate that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and bit-error rate (BER) will severely degrade with a high rain as com-pared to the low rain rate. The BER for DPSK outperforms the other types of modulation schemes that were used in this research. The SC diversity gave a marginal improvement with the increase in link distance. Keywords:Free Space Optical Communications, Rain Attenuation, on-off keying Modulation, and Selective Combining Diversity. ×

The batteries has been widely used as an energy storage system for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). To avoid faults in these systems (UAVs), which are powered by batteries, there are several approaches to forecast the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of the batteries. In this work, it's proposed the use of a model based on Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) to estimate the RUL in Lithium-Ion batteries. The database used was available at NASA's repository in 2015.Key words:Lithium-Ion batteries, Extended Kalman Filter, RUL Estimation, UAVs ×

The requirements for improved stiffness, reliability, fatigue life and increased efficiency involves challenges of developing innovative design solutions. The present work mainly focus on the design of car alloy wheel, where the analytical and FEM analysis approach was implemented to analyze baseline design. Initially static analysis was performed to obtain total deformation, strain and the stress of car alloy wheel. Three Dimensional model was created using CATIA and FE software ANSYS was used for discretization and analysis to obtain expected solution. The results were obtained through linear static analysis in terms of Total deformation while Minimum principal stress, Max Principal stress were found to be nearly equal for both 6 arms wheel and 4 arms wheel and 22.16 % of reduction in weight was observed and hence overall weight of the car alloy wheel was optimized. Keywords:Alloy wheel, Principal stress, Deformation & Fatigue Loading, ×

Concrete plays a vital role as a construction material in the world. In the present scenario, waste materials from various industries are added to the mix. Over 400 million tons of waste materials are being produced by various industries every year. Foundries successfully recycle and reuse the sand many times in a foundry. When the sand can no longer be reused in the foundry, it is removed from the foundry and is termed as Foundry sand. Foundry sand production is nearly 6 to 10 million tons annually. There is a possibility of substituting natural fine aggregate with waste foundry sand which offers technical, economic and environmental advantages which are of great use in the construction sector........Keywords:...... ×

Currently, several methods exist for assessment of the total size of a cooling tower plume, which is created in the space above the evaporation cooling systems. Practically all the available methods, however, allow only qualitative assessment of this size. With the development of moisture recovery systems, there is a need to quantify the cited phenomenon, particularly to allow for assessment of MRE systems. The contribution for this reason discusses the compilation of a simple mathematical model on whose basis the cited quantification may be done. At the same time, it has also been proven that not even one of the methods applied to date can give correct results. Keywords:cooling tower, moisture recovery systems, plum abatement, wet cooling. ×

In simple terms supply chain management link all the supply interacting organization in an integrated two way communication system to manage high quality inventory in the most effective and efficient manner. As such supply chain management is a network of facilities and distribution options that perform the function of procurement of material transformation of these materials into intermediate and finished good and finally the distribution of these goods to the end user. The supply chain exists both in the service and manufacturing sector, although the complexity of chain may vary greatly from industry to industry and from firm to firm.
