Abstract:
In bid to determine the level of base oil recovery using thermal desorption unit, a process that provides for waste reduction and recycling, ten samples of oil based mud contaminated drill cuttings were collected from ten oil wells in the Niger Delta are in Nigeria. Composite samples were formed from each oil well sample and a retort analysis was made of each composite sample, to determine the percentage of oil and water in the oily cuttings and the temperature for the thermal desorption treatment of these oily cuttings. The results of the retort analysis showed an average percentage range of oil and water content as 6.93 – 23.93% and 4.00 – 15.00% respectively and presented a suitable temperature range of 325°C – 350°C for the thermal desorption treatment. All the drill cuttings were then treated in a Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU). Another retort analysis was carried out on the processed solids (cleaned cuttings) to determine the level of oil residue, which stood at 0.19 – 0.79%. This is below the regulatory limit of 1%. This study reveals the efficiency of TDU process in the recovery of oil from drill cuttings from the Niger Delta area of Nigeria.Key word: Drill cutting, Base oil, Thermal desorption, Cleaning cutting. ×

Serviceability Limit States (SLS) may lead to the design of concrete elements internally reinforced with Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP).In many types of concrete structure loss the serviceability due to wide cracks, number of cracks or large deflection is not uncommon behaviour in concrete structures or concrete beams. The flexural ductility affects the serviceability deflection of RC beams once flexural cracking take place.Imprvement will be focused on the use of polypropilene fibres , which is the subject of thispaper. The performance of concrete with fibers is judged by the flexural toughness obtained by load-deflection curves. The flexural toughness of concrete is depend on different types of fibersin use.Its tougness will be reperesent in the behaviour of RC memebres at failure. Sometimes, it is difficult to use the flexural toughness to judge the behavior of concrete structures under service load. The result of cracking on concrete beam due to the applied load and the method of loading to monitor and check the performance of concrete with different types of fiber arediscussed in this paper. The reductionin the dimension of cracks and the effect of energy disipations of polypropilene fibres will be the main aim of this research work. Keywords: RC beams, polypropylene fibers, strengthening, flexural strength, deflection, ductility, energy. ×

Transportation is an essential part in social, industrial and economical process that encounters to the increasing of level of vechile which leads to increasing demand and deterioration of transportation infrastructure as well as others. The transportation expert may be asked to support a decision, determine a preference, rank influencing factors, or assess alternatives through various methods including surveys, interviews, panel meetings, and expert analyses. In many of these cases, before the experts render their opinion they formulate it through the use of linguistic information and their own subjective decision criteria. An efficient method to analyze subjective and linguistic information employed by people, whether expert or layman is to apply a fuzzy set concept. The primary strength of a fuzzy approach is that it is applicable for the analysis of human knowledge and subjective human perception, which are represented by linguistic terms rather than numerical terms, and the deductive process. The fuzzy inference system, which mimics the human perception and decision making processes, is a deductive process of mapping given inputs to certain outputs based on fuzzy membership functions and fuzzy rules. It has been widely applied in various analysis of subjective and ambiguous information. Keywords: Fuzzy Inference System, Fuzzy Membership Functions, Fuzzy Geometric Index, Fuzzy Mean Safety Index ×

By investigating the accident in 2009 and 2011 of Taijiu Expressway, the study analyzed the relationship between the horizontal curve radiuses, the length of horizontal curve, the length of transition curve and the number of accidents, established the corresponding regression model. The trend of accidents was determined with different length of transition curve and different combination of circular curve according to this model. The results show that the circular curve radius and length of transition curve increase with the decreases of accidents number, the number of accidents decreases with the increase of the ratio of the length of the transition curve and the length of the round curve. When the ratio of the parameters of the transition curve and the radius of the circle is between 0.3-0.6, the accidents are more focused. The bigger change rate of curves is, there are more accidents of flat curve. To evaluate road traffic safety from the perspective of horizontal curve alignment design, these regularities have very important reference. Keywords - transition curve, circular curve, accident numbers, traffic safety. ×

The concept of using alcohol fuels as alternative to diesel fuel in diesel engine is recent one. The scarcity of transportation petroleum fuels due to the fast depletion of the petroleum deposits and frequent rise in their costs in the international market have spurred many efforts to find alternatives. Alcohols were quickly recognized as prime candidates to displace or replace high octane petroleum fuels. Innovative thinking led to find varies techniques by which alcohol can be used as fuel in diesel engine. Amongst the fuel alternative proposed, the most favourest ones are methanol and ethanol. The specific tendency of alcohols to ignite easily from a hot surface makes it suitable to ignite in a diesel engine by different methods. The advantage of this property of alcohols enables to design and construct a new type of engine called surface ignition engine. Methanol and ethanol are very susceptible to surface ignition, this method is very suitable for these fuels. The hot surfaces which, can be used in surface ignition engine are electrically heated glow plug with hot surface. Hence present research work carries the experimental investigation on glow plug hot surface ignition engine, by adding different additives with methanol and ethanol as fuels, with an objective to find the best one performance, emission and compression parameters.Keyword— GHCSI, Ethanol, Low Heat Rejection, PSZ Additive (Iso amyl nitrate). ×

The paper investigates the effects of openings in shear wall on seismic response of structures. For parametric study 6 and 12 storied 7x3 bays apartment buildings with typical floor plan of 35mx15m and floor height of 3m with different openings size and location in shear walls were modeled in STAAD pro. An equivalent static analysis for three dimensional models of the buildings was performed as per IS 1893 (part 1): 2002. Seismic responses of the analyzed structures were compared. The results reveal that for opening area < 20%, the stiffness of the system is more affected by the size of openings than its arrangement. However, for opening area >20%, the stiffness of the system is significantly affected by openings configuration in shear walls. Keywords - Openings in shear wall, Stiffness of shear wall, Seismic response. ×

Abstract:
A composite is usually made up of at least two materials out of which one is binding material called as matrix and other is a reinforcement material known as fiber. For the past ten years research is going on to explore possible composites with natural fiber like plant fibers and animal fibers. The important characteristics of composites are their strength, hardness light in weight. It is also necessary to study about the resistance of the composites for deferent chemicals. In the present work, composites prepared with epoxy (Araldite LY-556) as resin and "emu‟ bird feathers as fiber have been tested for chemical resistance. The composites were prepared by varying fiber loading (P) of "emu‟ feathers ranging from 1 to 5 and length (L) of feather fibers from 1 to 5 cm. The composites thus prepared were subjected to various chemicals (Acids, Alkalis, solvents etc.). Observations were plotted and studied. The results reveal that there will be weight gain for the composite samples after three days, when treated with Hydrochloric acid, Sodium carbonate, Acetic acid, Sodium hydroxide, Nitric acid and Ammonium hydroxide. Weight loss was observed for all the samples including pure epoxy when treated with Benzene, Carbon tetra chloride and Toluene.Keyword— Epoxy composites, Emu bird feather fibers, Chemical resistance. ×

The paper is based on feed forward neural network (FFNN) optimization by particle swarm intelligence (PSI) used to provide initial weights and biases to train neural network. Once the weights and biases are found using Particle swarm optimization (PSO) with neural network used as training algorithm for specified epoch, the same are used to train the neural network for training and classification of benchmark problems. Further the approach is tested for offline signature classifications. A comparison is made between normal FFNN with random weights and biases and FFNN with particle swarm optimized weights and biases. Firstly, the performance is tested on two benchmark databases for neural network, The Breast Cancer Database and the Diabetic Database. Result shows that neural network performs better with initial weights and biases obtained by Particle Swarm optimization. Abstract:
Image segmentation is used to separate an image into several "meaningful" parts. Image segmentation is identification of homogeneous regions in the image. Many algorithms have been elaborated for gray scale images. However, the problem of segmentation for color images, which convey much more information about objects in scenes, has received much less attention of scientific community. While several surveys of monochrome image segmentation techniques were published, similar surveys for color images did not emerge. Image segmentation is a process of pixel classification. An image is segmented into subsets by assigning individual pixels to classes. It is an important step towards pattern detection and recognition. Segmentation is one of the first steps in image analysis. It refers to the process of partitioning a digital image into multiple regions (sets of pixels). Each of the pixels in a region is similar with respect to some characteristic or computed property, such as color, intensity, or texture. The level of segmentation is decided by the particular characteristics of the problem being considered. Image segmentation could be further used for object matching between two images. An object of interest is specified in the first image by using the segmentation result of that image; then the specified object is matched in the second image by using the segmentation result of that image ×Mr.Mubarak Jamadar, Prof.Jhansi Lakshmi, Prof.Syed Mazharuddin, "Automatic Brain Tumour Detection Using Symmetry Information" Vol. 5 - Issue 7 (July - 2015), International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications (IJERA) , ISSN: 2248-9622 , www.ijera.com ×

The auscultation means the sound created by any organ due to turbulent blood flow. The murmurs are heart abnormal sounds. The murmur can be detected and analyzed by using Digital Signal Processing (DSP) stethoscope but looking cost aspect a system should have maximum accuracy level. The noise in audio files (.wave) is degraded by using Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filtering. The designed system calculates Root Mean Square (RMS) value and Low Energy Rate (LER) for sound signals directly taken from internet by using MATLAB platform. From the calculation, system classifies the signal either normal or murmur signals. Results are consulted with a physician. Abstract:
As per the modern Industrial requirements, higher surface finish mechanical components and mating parts with close limits and tolerances, is one of the most important requirement. Abrasive machining processes are generally the last operations performed on manufactured products for higher surface finishing and for fine or small scale material removal. Higher surface finish and high rate of removal can be obtained if a large number of grains act together. This is accomplished by using bonded abrasives as in grinding wheel or by modern machining processes. In the present study, Taguchi method or Design of experiments has been used to optimize the effect of cylindrical grinding parameters such as wheel speed (rpm), work speed, feed (mm/min.), depth of cut and cutting fluid on the surface roughness of EN15AM steel. Ground surface roughness measurements were carried out by Talysurf surface roughness tester. EN15AM steel has several industrial applications in manufacturing of engine shafts, connecting rods, spindles, studs, bolt, screws etc. The results indicated that grinding wheel speed, work piece speed, table feed rate and depth of cut were the significant factors for the surface roughness and material removal rate. Surface roughness is minimum at 2000 r.p.m. of grinding wheel speed , work piece speed 80 rpm, feed rate 275 mm/min. and 0.06 mm depth of cut.Key word: Cylindrical Grinding, Process parameters, Surface roughness measurement, Taguchi method, ANOVA methodology. ×

A significant effort has been made in order to study the Traffic Volume of Panjab University Campus, Chandigarh. Established in 1882, Panjab University is one of the oldest universities in India. As one of the most renowned Universities in India, Panjab University itself attracts a lot of vehicular population. The Panjab University itself becomes a major traffic generator in a way. Campus is large and contains places to work, learn, socialize and live each with its own trip purpose. In recent years, usage of automobiles on campus has increased considerably. In addition to going to class, students also are likely to use vehicles for employment, recreation, shopping and social activities. The objective of the study is to analyze the prevailing traffic conditions on the University roads. Traffic Volume study is carried out in the campus and existing level of service is calculated.Due to mixed nature of traffic it gets difficult to accommodate all the kinds of traffic on these roads. The basic problem arises during the peak hours of the day when the traffic volume is highest on the road. The volume study were done at Gate no.1 and Gate no. 2 which are the major entry points in the University. The data was analyzed for the peak hour of traffic.Index terms: Capacity, Level of Service. ×

The classical era in architecture developed most of its principles consciously in the development of structures that remain significant to this moment. The era was characterised by numerous construction designs in varied platforms including the domes, the interiors, and the columns. Architects displayed numerous skills through the design of symmetrical structures with a focal point acting as the separating and distinguishing factor. The era remains influential to modern architects who seem to emulate the various aspects established in the classical era. The interiors and designs of modern buildings including various temples emulate classical era buildings. The success of the era was influenced by some of the greatest minds in architecture including Sebastiano Serlio, Vitruvius, and Giacomo Barozzi da Vignola among others. The impacts of the classical era influence various segments in modern architecture where the architects and the interior designers incorporate the best from the period and the contemporary designs. The era provides significant inspiration and remains a relevant topic of study. ×Fadhel Bushehri, "Classic Era and its Effect on Interior Design" Vol. 5 - Issue 7 (July - 2015), International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications (IJERA) , ISSN: 2248-9622 , www.ijera.com

Power optimization has become an important factor in designing a VLSI circuit. Earlier dynamic power was single largest concern but as transistor size decreases static power dominates the dynamic power. A comparable analysis of different low power, leakage current reduction techniques like sleep, stack, sleepy keeper and reverse body bias with sleep and stack has been done. Based on simulations performed on a XNOR circuit, the reverse body with sleep and stack achieves up to 60% less power consumption as compared to the base case which is better than other conventional techniques. Simulations to estimate power consumption are done on a TANNER EDA tool at 90 nm technology. Keywords - Leakage current reduction, Power optimization, Sleep, Sleepy keeper, Stack. ×

Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is a specialized thermal machining process capable of accurately machining parts with varying hardness or complex shapes, which have sharp edges that are very difficult to be machined by the main stream machining processes. This practical technology of the WEDM process is based on the conventional EDM sparking phenomenon utilizing the widely accepted non-contact technique of material removal. Since the introduction of the process, WEDM has evolved from a simple means of making tools and dies to the best alternative of producing micro-scale parts with the highest degree of dimensional accuracy and surface finish quality. Metal matrix composites are advanced materials having high specific strength, good wear resistance, and high thermal expansion coefficient. To achieve this task, machining parameters such as pulse on time, pulse off time, peak current, servo voltage, wire feed, wire tension etc. of this process should be selected such that optimal value of their performance measures like Material Removal Rate (MRR), Surface Roughness (SR), Gap current, Dimensional deviation, etc. can be obtained or improved. In past decades, intensive research work had been carried out by different researchers for improvement and optimization of WEDM performance measures using various optimization techniques like Taguchi, Response Surface Methodology (RSM), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Genetic Algorithm (GA), etc. This paper also highlights the feasibility of the different control strategies of obtaining the optimal machining conditions. This literature review helps to identify the suitable process parameters and their ranges in machining of metal matrix composites.Keyword— Wire EDM, Metal Matrix Composite, Optimization, MRR, Surface roughness. ×

Doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG) are widely used in variable-speed variable-pitch wind energy generation systems. These machines are controlled with the power converters connected to the rotor, where the controlled power is only a fraction, approximately equal to the slip of the stator power. This characteristics of the DFIG has increased the wind energy penetration, but it is more prone to the electrical grid disturbances. These disturbances are classified as the voltage dips and the line faults. In the first section of this paper, PWM control of the DFIG for maximum power extraction is presented. In the second section, the behaviour of the DFIG under the various grid disturbances are modelled. Studies related to value addition of underutilized crops using fermentation technology need a radical approach. Present study has been made to explore the underutilized crops utilization for production of beer. Designed experiments were conducted to find the effect of three independent variables having three levels of each i.e. (blend ratio-80:20:0,80:10:10, 80:0:20 , α-amylase enzyme concentration - 0%, 0.4%, and 0.8%) and slurry ratio -1:5, 1:7 and 1:9) on pH, colour and alcohol content of beer prepared from finger millet, barnyard millet and paddy. The data from all experiments were analyzed statistically using Design Expert 8.0.7.1 and the response functions were developed using the regression analysis. Result of fermented studies reveals that blend ratio had maximum effect on alcohol content,pH and colour but enzyme concentration had maximum effect on alcohol content while slurry ratio affected the colour of beer. Statistical analysis resulted in the optimum conditions of the independent variables as blend ratio (80):(9.6):(10.4), enzyme concentration 0.45% and slurry ratio 1:6.82 for maximum beer production. The second order model was found to be fitted to predict all the responses i.e., pH, colour and alcohol content. Keywords: Underutilized crops, millets, Fermentation technology, beer, alcohol content, pH , colour. ×

Abstract:
There are a lot of arguments on which method of curing concrete gives good strength. These different opinions results into this study, which aim at investigating the effects of different curing methods on the strength of concrete. Laboratory test was employed for this study. Normal concretes were prepared using specified mix ratio of 1:2:4 and 1:3:6. The cubes tested for compressive strength at 3, 7, 21, and 28 days of curing respectively using four curing methods namely immersion, sprinkling, polythene sheeting and sharp sand coating. Testing indicate that water immersion curing method as well as sprinkling (spraying ) methods of curing, provide better results than membrane (polythene sheeting) method of curing. While sharp sand gives least strength. The rate of drying was significant when the specimens were subjected to curing with polythene sheet method of curing. This thus hampered the hydration process and thus affected the compressive strength property of the hardened concrete. The overall findings of this study suggests that concrete should be cured by water immersion or spraying regularly to achieve a better compressive strength in concrete. Keywords: Curing Methods, Strength, Hydration Process ×

Abstract:
Slipforming operation's linearity is a source of planning complications, and operation is usually subjected to bottlenecks at any point, so careful planning is required in order to achieve success. On the other hand, Discrete-event simulation concepts can be applied to simulate and analyze construction operations and to efficiently support construction scheduling. Nevertheless, preparation of input data for construction simulation is very challenging, time consuming and human prone-error source. Therefore, to enhance the benefits of using DES in construction scheduling, this study proposes an integrated module to establish a framework for automating the generation of time schedules and decision support for Slipform construction projects, particularly through the project feasibility study phase by using data exchange between project data stored in an Intermediate database, DES and Scheduling software. Using the stored information, proposed system creates construction tasks attribute [e.g. activities durations, material quantities and resources amount], then DES uses all the given information to create a proposal for the construction schedule automatically. This research is considered a demonstration of a flexible Slipform project modeling, rapid scenario-based planning and schedule generation approach that may be of interest to both practitioners and researchers. Keywords: Automation, Slip forming, Modeling, planning, Data exchange, Scheduling generation, EZstrobe. ×

Abstract:
One of the complexities in a wireless mesh networks is its low throughput. For this reason and due to the fact that throughput is highly reduced by increased number of nodes, it is difficult to extend such networks. Therefore, providing a high throughput in these networks is an essential goal. The main lowering cause of efficiency of such networks is interference between wireless links. A high interference leads to a reduced throughput. In this research, two channel assignment methods were presented using genetic and tabu search algorithms and their advantages and disadvantages were assessed. Finally, a new method combining the advantages of both methods was proposed. With the help of NS2 network simulator, our work was simulated and the combination results of the two methods were compared. The results were indicative of the better performance of the hybrid method and significant increase of throughput in the network. Keywords: interference, multi-channel, multi-radio, channel assignment, Throughput. ×

The need of the hour, as we all genuinely know from the global scenario is the production of electricity from the renewable resources of energy. Most widely used among them are the solar and the wind potential. Besides these, the hydroelectric resources also play a remarkable role as hydroelectricity accounts for a major share in the energy sector throughout the world. The trend at present is of the stand alone hydro power plants wherein the turbine used is the Hydrokinetic turbine , which works with the speed of flow of the water stream. Permanent magnet synchronous machines, known for their robust nature, variable speed, and high power to weight ratio are the most suitable ones for the construction of the turbine for low speed operation. This paper presents the design of permanent magnet synchronous machine and the machine has been modeled and simulated in RMXprt and Ansys Maxwell.Index terms: PMSG (permanent magnet synchronous generator), RMXprt ( rotational machine expert), HKT ( hydrokinetic turbine), UHT (ultra high temperature) ×

Low salinity water flooding as an Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Technique refers to the injection of brine with a lower salt content or ionic strength into an oil reservoir. Although the mechanisms have not yet been verified, the solution and surface chemistry as well as rock/fluid interactions haveimportant roles that can be attributed to reservoir minerals being sensitive to small changes in solution properties. Among the proposed mechanisms, the clay content of rock and type of clay has been of significant interest insheddinglight on the low salinity water flooding process. In this paper, two clay types (illite and kaolinite) have been selected to investigate the individual contribution of each on the rock surface characterization andlow salinity water flooding performance. ×Sina Rezaei-Gomari, and Andrés Delgado Andrade, Bahram Soltani, "Study of the effect of Illite and Kaolinite on low salinity water injection" Vol. 5 - Issue 7 (July - 2015), International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications (IJERA) , ISSN: 2248-9622 , www.ijera.com

Parallel processing is capable of executing a large number of tasks on a multiprocessor at the same time period, and it is also one of the emerging concepts. Complex and computational problems can be resolved in an efficient way with the help of parallel processing. The parallel processing system can be divided into two categories depending on the nature of tasks such are homogenous parallel system and the heterogeneous parallel processing system. In the homogeneous environment, the number of processors required for executing different tasks is similar in capacity. In case of heterogeneous environments, tasks are allocated to various processors with different capacity and speed. The main objective of parallel processing is to optimize the execution speed and to shorten the duration of task execution with independent of environment. In this proposed work, an optimized parallel project selection method was implemented to find the optimal resource utilization and project scheduling. The execution speeds of the task increases and the overall average execution time of the task decreases by allocating different tasks to various processors with the task scheduling algorithm. ×Vidya Sagar Ponnam, Dr.N.Geethanjali, "An Improved Parallel Activity scheduling algorithm for large datasets"Vol. 5 - Issue 7 (July - 2015), International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications (IJERA) , ISSN: 2248-9622 , www.ijera.com

The Cloud computing is a latest technology which provides various services through internet. The Cloud server allows user to store their data on a cloud without worrying about correctness & integrity of data. Cloud data storage has many advantages over local data storage. User can upload their data on cloud and can access those data anytime anywhere without any additional burden. The User doesn't have to worry about storage and maintenance of cloud data. But as data is stored at the remote place how users will get the confirmation about stored data. Hence Cloud data storage should have some mechanism which will specify storage correctness and integrity of data stored on a cloud. The major problem of cloud data storage is security .Many researchers have proposed their work or new algorithms to achieve security or to resolve this security problem. In this paper, we proposed a Shamir's Secrete sharing algorithm for Privacy Preservation for data Storage security in cloud computing. We can achieve confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data. It supports data dynamics where the user can perform various operations on data like insert, update and delete as well as batch auditing where multiple user requests for storage correctness will be handled simultaneously which reduce communication and computing cost. Keywords: Privacy Preserving, Public Auditing, TPA, Data Security ×

Abstract:
In this scholarly thesis pertinent to the working of centrifugal pump, a CFD solver namely CFX is employed in order to simulate fluid flow characteristics with well-defined constraints and boundary conditions defining the problem. Stringent solid model is meticulously prepared encompassing the present day usage and constructional features of a centrifugal pump and is constrained with various boundary conditions having fixed domain in order to evaluate plots and results. To spearhead and facilitate this analysis program a numerical approximation tool with high degree of convergence rate called ANSYS 15.0 software is used. The ASNYS software avoids tedious calculations presumably impending in the design procedure and uses ultimate numerical tool to approximate the solution of the partial differential equations associated with continuity, momentum and energy phases of a flow problem in a 3-D model. This exquisite feature of ANSYS enables designer to optimize the design procedure in an iterative manner based on the final plots of post-processing phase. In addition, the scholarly writing also constitutes the appraisal of the most debilitating and painstaking problem retarding the efficiency of the centrifugal pump known as cavitation. Possible remedies for overcoming this problem will be indirectly inferred from the various plots and figures derived from the post-processing phase of the design process. Keywords: Cavitation, NPSH, CFD. ×

The ten lump strategy and reaction schemes are based on the concentration of the various stocks i.e., paraffins, naphthenes, aromatic and aromatic substituent groups (paraffinic and napthenic groups attached to aromatic rings). The developed model has been studied using C++ programming language using Runge-Kutta Fehlberg mathematical method. At a space time of 4.5 s, the gasoline yield is predicted to be 72 mass % and 67 mass % for naphthenic and paraffinic feedstock respectively. Type of feed determines the yield of gasoline and coke. A highly naphthenic charge stock has given the greatest yield of gasoline among naphthenic, paraffinic and aromatic charge stock. In addition to this, effect of space time and temperature on the yield of coke and gasoline and conversion of gas oil has been presented. Also, the effect of catalyst to oil ratio is also taken in studies.Key Words: Fluid catalytic cracking , Riser reactor, Ten-lump model. ×

Electricity markets all over the world are moving towards greater reliance on competition and this has become a global trend as a method of best practice. However, before competition is introduced in electricity markets it is imperative to model and assess the behavior of the market. The assessment includes calculating the market performance indices to determine the levels of market power exploitation by the Generating Companies (GenCos) that will participate in the market. This paper presents a study on modeling and analysis of wholesale competitive electricity market for a developing country to help regulators assess and predict market behaviour. Abstract:
Ten diverse genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were crossed in a diallel fashion to study variability , heritability and genetic advance for 12 quantitative characters . A considerable amount of variability (gcv) varied from 5.95 for no. of leaves per tiller to 17.40 for grain yield per plant and the estimates of pcv varied from 7.08 for days to 50% flowering to 17.49 for grain yield per plant. The heritability estimates ranged from 0.721 for total biological yield per plant to 1.000 for plant height . Since the heritability in broad sense was estimated , therefore . other parameters should also be considered for selecting the genotypes. The genetic advance varied from 0.71 for no. of leaves per tiller to 46.23 for no. of spikelets per panicle. High estimates of genetic advance was reported for plant height , days to maturity , days to 50% flowering and total biological yield per plant . However, high heritability estimates was associated with high predicted genetic advance for plant height , days to maturity ,days to 50% flowering and no. of spikelets per panicle. The situation is encouraging since selection based on these characters being of additive in nature , is likely to be more effective for their improvement. As such phenotypic selection for those traits is likely to be more effective for their improvement. The estimates of phenotypic coefficient of variation were higher than those of genotypic coefficient of variation for all the traits except plant height. High estimates of heritability and genetic advance were obtained for plant height , number of spikelets per panicle , days to 50 per cent flowering and days to maturity . These traits were mostly governed by additive gene action. And these characters are important for the breeder to construct selection indices.Index Terms: Diallel fashion, Variability, Heritability, Genetic advance ×

Abstract:
Prior research on the occupational incidents show that job-related accidents are majorly caused by two types of failures: a) active failures (technical and human errors), they directly affect the occurrences and totally happen in the beginning of work, b) latent failures, though hold unseen and steady for a long while in the system, they are rooted in the decisions of top-ranking officials. Tripod-DELTA is a tool that exposes latent failures. It classifies all possible latent failures in to 11 GFTs. By analyzing an operation using the GFTs, DELTA assesses where the most problematic areas of an operation are. The process of action itemizing DELTA facilitates the removal of latent failures. Keywords: Tripod- DELTA, General Failure Types, Latent failures ×

Abstract:
This paper has two objectives: the first is to show that the annual runoff of rivers such as Conchos and Nazas (Mexico), follow the Pareto rule of 80:20 when classes are ordered from largest to less, and can be compared with cascade processes. The second objective is to show that cascade process produce the core which gives rise to fractional integral and therefore to differential equations of fractional order. Finally, we conclude that the Pareto rule is a first approach to saturation described by the complementary characteristic function, and runoff data provide the order of the temporal derivative. Therefore, cascade processes are manifested ubiquitously in nature, and show us a way to evolve towards the imbalanced and become in distribution mechanisms that turn into a transition that destroys old and build new correlations. Keywords: Pareto rule, rivers, Cantor process, cascade process, probability density, structure function. ×

Abstract:
One of the primary functions of construction equipment management is to calculate the production rate of equipment which will be a major input to the processes of time estimates, cost estimates and the overall project planning. Accordingly, it is crucial to stakeholders to be able to compute equipment production rates. This may be achieved using an accurate, reliable and easy tool. The objective of this research is to provide a simple model that can be used by specialists to predict the duration of a proposed Continuous Flight Auger job. The model was obtained using a prioritizing technique based on expert judgment then using multi-regression analysis based on a representative sample. The model was then validated on a selected sample of projects. The average error of the model was calculated to be about (3%-6%).Keywords: Construction Management, CFA piles, Equipment Management, Productivity ×

Abstract:
As technology advances, a system on chip (SOC) design can contain more and more components that lead to a high power density. Now-a-days in IC's, the power consumed by clocking gradually takes a dominant part. . Power, Area, Performance has become a main issue in VLSI design. In previous designs they have performed a co-ordinate transformation to identify the flip-flops that can be merged and their legal regions. A combinational table is formed by that flip-flops. Finally they used hierarchical way to merge the flip-flops. Due to this design the power consumption can be reduced by replacing some flip-flops by fewer multi-bit flip-flops. We have proposed an single phase adiabatic clock in for further reduction of the power. In our design also first we will identify the mergeable flip-flops, build a combinational table from mergeable flip-flops and all the flip-flops are divided into sub regions to check whether they are working properly or not and finally these flip-flops are combined together, at this point we are giving an single phase adiabatic clock as input to those flip-flops for the reduction of power consumption and timing.Index Terms: Clock power reduction, merging, multi bit flip-flops, Adiabatic clock ×
