Abstract:
This paper represents the profiled activity accomplished by natural convection and it has the major broad application in the field of engineering and technology. In natural convection the fluid which surrounds the heat source receives heat radiations as its density decreases by temperature gradient as a result the air becomes less dense and forms its provisions for escape and the process continuously takes place for regular intervals, as the cold fluid is made readily available for heat contact and its geometric figure mainly depends on design, and analysis. Thermal analysis is done on the Rectangular flat plate materials used for the process is made of brass which is an alloy of copper and zinc as the brass is non- ferrous metal with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity as well as good corrosion resistance, ductility and strength the thermal conductivity of brass is 109 (w/mk) by which the brass has the excellent thermal conductivity and is a first choice for heat exchangers. The design task of rectangular plate can.....Keyword: Natural convection,Ansys CFD, Thermal Analysis, Rectangular plate, Heat flux, etc. ×

The Siwalik Group consists of sedimentary rocks like mudrocks, sandstones and conglomerates. Mudrocks are notably found in the Lower Siwalik Subgroup and the Middle Siwalik Subgroup. It is necessary to study mudrock weathering characteristics because weathering of mudrock weakens rock masses and contributes in gully formation and subsequent landsliding. This work presents results obtained in a study aiming at identifying degradation processes responsible for erosion and slope movements of rocks in the Siwaliks of Nepal. Mudrocks under investigation were obtained from the Lower and the Middle Siwalik Subgroups of Hetauda-Amlekhganj area, Central Nepal. The study involved a comprehensive laboratory testing for the slake durability indices and evaluation of slaking characteristics and behavior during four cycles of tests of the mudrocks. Usually, mudrocks are prone to slaking, but some mudrocks with calcareous binding materials are relatively more durable compared to non-calcareous ones. Altogether nine types of degradation curves have been identified..Keyword: Siwaliks, Slake durability test, Sedimentary rocks, Mudrocks, Slaking behavior. ×

This paper proposes an empirical model for prediction of the radio path loss in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The model applies to WSNs that are deployed in environments with dust and sand storms. It is developed as a result of statistical analysis of the measured data collected during dust and sand storms. The measured data were obtained at 2.4GHz and for different levels of the storm severity. The proposed model shows a very good agreement with the measured data. It is also demonstrated that the radio path loss correlates very well with the wind speed. Therefore, the wind may be considered as a principle source that determines the severity of the dust and sand storms from the path loss standpoint..Keyword: Propagation loss, wireless sensor networks, sand storms.. ×

Due to the explosive growth of applications in the field of mobile ad hoc networks, and also the amount of data available in various forms, it is the need to develop reliable communication algorithms among the various sensor nodes. It is highly challenging to develop algorithms that are robust against the dynamic movements of the network nodes which results in a varied number of nodes in a clustered network of nodes. Besides, the design of an algorithm is further complicated as the nodes are suffering from retaining their energy due to communication among the nodes to transfer data. In this context, we have attempted to provide a solution based on a multivariate data analysis technique called principal component analysis to eliminate the redundant information that exists within the data itself and hence reduces the data transfer overhead, thereby minimizing the energy. Unlike other methods that use the...Keyword: Energy Minimization, Incremental Principal Component Analysis, Mobile Adhoc Networks, Renyi Entropy Component Analysis. ×

Optimization of process parameters to enrich welded joint quality has been a focus of global research. Some optimization methods have produced welds of low strength and quality, however, other methods have produced demonstrably high quality welded joints. The Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) method was used to determine the geometric mean of weights for each of the output parameters which include the mechanical test and weld sample measurement values taken. The Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method was applied to optimize these parameters by utilizing the weights generated using SWARA method. In this study, the SWARA-ARAS method was adopted to assess the effect of process parameters on the quality of welded mild steel joints. From applying the SWARA-ARAS method, weldment number seven (7) of the eight (8) weldments evaluated, having an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 395 MPa, Impact energy (CVN) of 250J, Bead Height (BH) of 1.98mm and Bead Width (BW) of 4.82mm, was found to possess the best input and output parameters...Keyword: Gas flow rate (GFR), SWARA, ARAS, mild steel, weldment . ×

Brazil is a country with great cultural diversity. Most of the population, represented by black and brown people, has suffered from social and racial inequality due to their skin colour. Considering that transportation means interfering with access to education, employment opportunities and health services, it is necessary to identify how they can mitigate inequality. This work aims to assess racial inequality related to transportation means in Brazil. The differences between white and black/brown people were compared considering population rate, municipal human development, schooling rate index, and gross domestic product. The promotion of improvements and access to means of transportation should prioritize the least privileged population, which is the one that uses them the most. As a conclusion, the conditions of transportation offered by a country to the population can reduce the racial disparity and discrimination in the country..Keyword: racial inequality; transportation means; skim colour; discrimination. ×

Modern days food, work culture and stress increases the stroke attack on the human being Best case would be to prevent patients from having a stroke, or, at least, accelerate time-to-diagnosis and thus minimize the brain damage. If a stroke is diagnosed immediately, the patient may fully regain their mobility, self-care and social skills, progress sooner, or experience only a slight decline. But an inaccurate diagnosis may lead to dire consequences. Ischemic stroke is the most common type of this condition, and it is usually treated with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) to dissolve the blood clots and restore the blood flow to the brain. However, this medication can be deadly to a patient with a Ischemic stroke, because it will increase the internal bleeding. In turn, a Ischemic stroke may require surgical intervention or coil insertion to stop the bleeding. Deciding on the stroke type can be...Keyword: Semantics, K-Means Clustering, Index Library, Web Service Discovery. ×

This paper presents the performance of three different converters which uses the z-source topology for the boosting of output voltage. The proposed topologies need a smaller duty cycle, and lower values of inductors, which avoids the cause of saturation of inductors. The traditional z-source network is modified with an external switch and diode connected at the end of the terminals, which boosts the voltage gain to 1/(1-4D) at a duty cycle of 0.2 (smaller than 0.25). This technique is also applied to quasi-z-source converters. The quasi-z-source converters are classified as....Keyword: DC-DC Converter, Z-Source network, Quasi-z-source network.. ×

This work presents an active filter design using a programmable basic cell. In contrast to traditional design techniques, the cell allows to the designer to configure it to build gain stages and circuits emulating resistors. The proposed cell is a PPN current branch, where the sizing of transistors is done by using the Ohm's law and needed node voltages given by the designer. The cell's sizing warranty why, when designing a circuit based on the cell, the connection of them do not alter the operation point of the circuit. SPICE simulations show the usefulness of the cell to design analog integrated circuits. As an example, a single-ended Sallen-&-Key 2nd order band-pass filter is designed and analyzed. The active filter is designed in a standard 0.5m, 2.5V CMOS technology.
