  • Abstract:

The use of social media applications is a necessary component of modern life. Users of these applications are exposed to a variety of attacks for a variety of reasons. WhatsApp is a popular app in Saudi Arabia that allows users to share and exchange text, documents, and photographs with friends, family, and even workplaces. The researcher's goal in this work is to determine the prevalence of WhatsApp attack incidences and study how these attacks occur. The researcher prepared a study tool, which is an electronic questionnaire consisting of 13 questions. The questionnaire was sent to a large population of WhatsApp users in Bishah Province of which return the responses of 311 participants. The research assesses users' understanding of how to follow WhatsApp security rules, as well as the most well-known methods employed by attackers. The study concluded with several recommendations that should help to lower the risk of security threats using social media applications. One of the most important conclusions reached by the study is that in some cases, security notifications should be mandatory rather than optional, and that the notification given when a request to transfer a user account from one device to another should be improved..

  • Abstract:

In different applications, there is a need of high step-up DC-DC converters. Here introduced a high step-up DC-DC converter having dual switch and symmetrical topology that is also used for DC motor speed control. Dynamic voltage balance is also attained using this topology. Under steady and dynamic conditions, voltage is balanced across switches. Simple structure of this converter is the main advantage. But this converter needs a necessity of keeping parameter's constant. Deviations cause a huge voltage stress for both switches. A passive lossless clamp circuit can be used here to reduce the resonance. This Symmetrical dual switch converter used to drive a DC series motor at rated speed is simulated and validated in MATLAB/SIMULINK version 2017a. The converter provides a voltage gain of 9.8 for input voltage 20 V using Dspace ds1104 controller.

  • Abstract:

The river Brahmaputra and some of its tributaries like the Subansiri, Jia Bharali has are exceedingly high-water yield, surpassing most of the world's major rivers. The major factors responsible for the high rates of unit discharge are high monsoon rainfall in the upper catchments and their steep gradients which in turn help generate the high sediment yield from the basin and contribute significantly towards causing drainage congestion in the valley. So, this study aimed to find out tributaries in upper Assam region which is contributing more sediments to the river Brahmaputra and to suggest remedial measures for minimizing the sediment load of that contributing tributaries and the zone where the concentration of sediment is high. The observed data can be used to suggest fruitful approach for desiltation of river Brahmaputra and its certain tributaries.

  • Abstract:

The growth of renewable energy resources in high voltage applications like electric vehicle, HVDC, industrial drive, etc., power electronic converters play an important role in the power conversion suitable for each application. Multilevel inverters have their importance in medium and high voltage applications. A Single-Phase Switched-Capacitor Based Multi- level Boost Inverter Topology with Reduced Voltage Stress is proposed. Apart from the increased voltage gain, self-voltage balancing of the capacitor without any auxiliary method along with reduced voltage stress has been the main advantages of this topology. The comparative study of various Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques used in the inverter and their performance factors were analyzed with MATLAB/SIMULINK. The proposed inverter has an output THD of 7.74% using Fixed Frequency Modulation (FFM) compared to other control strategies and provides an efficiency of 97.8%. The output voltage levels can be varied by varying the switching sequence and also by extending the unit cell..

Breast cancer is one of the most fatal diseases responsible for the death of women all over the world. About one in eight of women is subject to breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. There is no effective method to prevent or know the reasons for the growth of these cancerous cells, however the number of deaths can be reduced by early detection. Early detection of breast cancer will facilitate the treatment process. For this purpose we are using DITI and a deep learning approach. Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (or DITI) is a non-invasive clinical imaging procedure used to detect and monitor many diseases and physical injuries. The images generated by the infrared scanning device allow us to visualize and quantify changes in skin surface temperature. The approach we are using will consist of two outputs.

Direct digital synthesis is a method to generate waveforms directly in the digital domain. Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) is an important signal generation module in many applications such as communication and mixed signal testing. This project proposes an AWG based on Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS).The common way to generate arbitrary wave- form is based on the look-up ROM.But due to the limitation of ROM size, it is difficult to realize high resolution and high precision DDS by lookup table method. So in this work Cordic algorithm is used for that purpose. CORDIC is a versatile algorithm widely used for VLSI implementation of digital signal processing applications. CORDIC algorithm provides fast and area efficient computations of sine and cosine functions without using ROM LUTs. The proposed DDS is implemented on FPGA using Verilog. • Abstract:

In this paper, we consider a formation control of multiple mobile robots by fisheye cameras. By recognizing the surrounding mobile robot from the image information of cameras, formation control becomes feasible even if there is no information exchange by communication between robots. A fisheye camera has a wide viewing angle, enabling a wide range of object recognition, and is highly useful. However, the resulting image is distorted, in order to perform the position and posture estimation based on the marker recognition, it is necessary to consider the distortion of this image. On the other hand, it is easier to design the control system based on the physical quantity of position and speed than using the feature quantity of the image, when the formation control of multiple mobile robots is considered. In this paper, a fisheye camera is modeled based on spherical coordinates, and a position estimation method by marker recognition is proposed. Next, we propose a velocity estimation method for a leader robot based on a disturbance observer by using the obtained position information. In addition, we introduce a formation control method based on the virtual structure of mobile robots. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through experiments.

In India, the rate of unemployment is on an upsurge. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are facing salary cuts, job loss, etc. The main objective of this project is to improve the status of the rising unemployment rates and degrading quality of lifestyle. Joblessness among skilled or low-skilled people can be solved by freelancing or microwork. Our system is dedicated to providing the user with a web interface to sell, buy or develop their projects. This project brings coders, sellers, and buyers on a single platform. It also supports the idea of New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 proposed by the Indian Government, as this can be a platform for exposure of students who have the technical knowledge of coding. The students/coders can upload their projects and bid for them as well as develop the buyers' projects. The buyers can buy the projects of the coders. The projects are sold and bought based on the quality of work and a bidding strategy. The potential outcome of this project would be a system that would help the user to sell, buy or develop their projects, leading to self-employment and qualitative work.

  • Abstract:

In this paper, crumb rubber is proposed as a possible lightweight replacement for fine aggre- gate in concrete. The performance of concrete with crumb rubber is analyzed through comparison to conven- tional concrete in terms of compressive strength (ASTM C39), tensile strength (ASTM C78 and ASTM C496), failure patterns, energy absorption during loading, and workability. The results show that up to 15 % of fine aggregates can be replaced with an equal volume of crumb rubber with a slight improvement of the concrete workability. The crumb rubber improves the compressive strength by over 5 %. The splitting tensile strength decreases with an increase in the quantity of crumb rubber, and the modulus of rupture is decreased by an average of 12 %. However, increased strain at failure, good energy absorption, improved modulus of toughness, and ductility are observed in rubberized concrete. Typical concrete brittle failure is not observed in rubberized concrete

In many countries around the world, the adverse environmental impacts of stockpiling waste tyres have led to investigate alternative options for disposal of waste tyres. One option to reduce this environmental concern is for the construction industry to consume a high amount of recycled tyres accumulated in stockpiles. There are different concerns regarding the introduction of rubber into concrete, which were addressed by previous studies. On the one hand, making a homogenous mix containing even distribution of rubber is a challenge. On the other hand, the severe reduction of concrete strength limits the rubber content. Moreover, replacing a portion of fine aggregates with low-stiffness rubber particles raises concerns regarding the generated shrinkage and cracking of rubberised.....

  • Abstract:

This project focuses on Static and Fatigue Analysis of repaired fuselage skin at the pitot tube location. The fuselage is an aircraft's main body section. Skin is damaged around the pitot tube on fuselage. It is removed by trimming out cracked area and installing the repair doubler to the skin. As part of the certification process, an aircraft manufacturer performs tests or analysis to demonstrate compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations 25.571. This analysis is generally based upon an implicit assumption of isolated cracking, i.e., the effect of a single crack is considered with respect to the issues of detectable or initial size, fracture-critical size, and rate of growth. The subject repairs need to be evaluated for Static strength and fatigue evaluation. Fatigue analysis is performed for the subject repair and fatigue life is evaluated based on High Cycle Fatigue (HCF), through S-N curves.

The paper presents a new topology of SEPIC converter with high voltage gain and high efficiency for both renewable and photovoltaic boost applications. Here, a higher gain SEPIC converter is obtained from the conventional type SEPIC converter by placing switched Inductor and adding a boosting module. The structure formed with two inductors and three diode is termed as switched inductor. The newly introduced SEPIC converter provides a higher voltage gain compared to the conventional SEPIC and other converters with a single controlled active switch. The proposed converter is analysed in continuous conduction mode. Since the modified converter topologies avoids series connections and use of transformers, non complex and inexpensive structure is obtained for photo voltaic boost applications. The working of the converter is analysed in continuous current mode. Simulation of switched inductor based high voltage gain SEPIC converter is done in MATLAB/SIMULINK R2017a. From the simulation results and analysis it is observed that the converter has an efficiency of 95 % and voltage gain is about 11.08

  • Abstract:

Assessment of visual quality is critical for many image and video processing applications. A quality assessment (QA) algorithm predicts visual quality by comparing a distorted video frame against a reference video frame. Various procedures are proposed for measuring the quality of the video frame. Video frame quality assessment plays an important role in the field of video processing. Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) and Visual Information Fidelity (VIF) has become a standard among image quality metrics. SSIM is a framework for quality assessment based on the degradation of structural information of video frame. Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) is used to assess the resemblance between the reference video frame and the distorted video frame. Measure of structural similarity index is able to provide a good approximation to perceived video frame quality. This procedure evaluates the visual impact of changes in luminance, contrast and structure in an image. • Abstract:

Degree of pressure loss and heat transfer due to rib turbulatorsinside a turbine blade cooling passage determines the overall performance of a gas turbine engine. Therefore, the focusof this experimental work is to determine the impact of detached ribs on pressure loss and heat transfer inside a passage which resembles an actual passage inside a turbine blade airfoil. The passage used for performing experiments has a rectangular cross-section with aspect ratio (AR) 1:5 and hydraulic diameter (Dh) 0.05 m. Detached V and W-ribs under study were mounted on opposite walls pointing upstream. Rib height (e) and angle-of-attack (α) for both ribs were 3 mm and30° respectively. Thermal Hydraulic Performance (THP) for both detached ribs were assessed for four Reynolds numbers 30000, 45000, 60000 and 75000 at height-to-hydraulic diameter ratio (e/Dh) 0.06 and pitch-to-height ratio (P/e) 9.Experimental results indicated better heat transfer capabilities for detached V-ribs, with highest heat transfer enhancement....

  • Abstract:

Integrated circuit designs are ever expanding which makes the verification process increasingly difficult and progressively time consuming therefore there is a need for effective verification of such circuit designs. This results in the need for effective testbench hierarchy, one with significant generic verification components that are quite reusable and can be easily extendable across designs. UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) hierarchy is one such architecture that can realize testbench architectures with coverage driven verification environments with CRT (constrained Random Test). The present work duly focuses on the UVM based verification of SPI Single Master and Multiple Slave protocol in accordance with the verification plan concocted after a full-scale analysis...

  • Abstract:

Wind energy is one of the most promising renewable energy resources for power generation, and rapid growth has been seen in its acceptance since 2000. The most acceptable classification for wind turbines is by its axis of orientation: Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines (HAWT) and Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT). HAWTs are used in many countries for medium-to-large scale power projects, and most commercial installations around the globe are solely based on these turbines. On the other hand, HAWTs are not recognized as a viable option to harness the energy of the wind in urban areas, where the wind is less intense, much more chaotic and turbulent. VAWTs are suggested as a better choice for cities, high altitudes isolated semi-urban areas. Several attributes have been suggested for the large-scale deployment of VAWTs, e.g., good performance under the weak and unstable wind, no noise and safety concerns, and aesthetically sound for integration in urban areas. Significant research has been published on wind turbine technology and resources assessment methodologies, and this review paper is a modest attempt to highlight some of the major developments of VAWTs

  • Abstract:

This paper presents a reactive power compensation modeling using renewable energy from sunlight through photovoltaics. The target is to eliminate harmonic signals on the power grid using an active power filter. The filter injects a compensatory current into the grid. The energy injected into the grid comes from the photovoltaic link direct current output voltage stored in the capacitor via a Voltage Source Inverter switch. The compensation energy level is regulated by the controller to keep it at a value that matches the network requirements. Integral Proportional Controller is implemented for steady state handling. It takes four insulated gate bipolar transistor devices for the Voltage Source Inverter on the power grid and to compensate for the reactive power to the power system. The reference signal generation uses the synchrounous reference frame method, while the controller is used as a direct current link controller. Simulation modeling by Matlab Simulink Tools. The simulation shows a significant reduction in Total Harmonic Distortion, where the electricity network before compensation is around 30.04% and after injection is 2.92%. So that this modeling deserves to be proposed as an active filter in a power system.
